Is Back 1976 [no label, 1CD]

Bread is Back TV Special; Reunion Tour 1976 plus bonus 1970 performance. Various venues. Audio extracted from TV broadcast. Very good to excellent soundboard.

It’s down memory lane… for some, this is comfort food.

Long before music videos and MTV, musicians had to rely on TV specials to promote new albums and even reunions. The Bread is Back 1976 TV Special was to promote the group’s 1976 reunion tour as well as their then new album, Lost Without Your Love.

If you are Bread/David Gates fan, you would likely own the video. And as fans are also aware, live Bread (especially soundboards) are hard to come by.

  5. there are a bunch of live bread performances on youtube but when i do a search for pre 90s they all dry up and when i look for things over 20 mins they dry up even more. however to look for the material from 72 and so on if one doesnt mind bits and pieces there are quite a bit of smaller bits if one wanted to create a compilation of them in either audio or video. and if one was interested in any era of bread there are quite a number of performances on the youtube site. i found literally nothing whatsoever on sugarmegs.. oddly enough.

  7. half my day? no.. it took about 5-8mins or so. ive been awake for 13 hours today. surely u didnt think i spent 6.5 hours looking for recordings of bread. i like their music but not enough to spend hours searching for them. i was doing what i did for a few mins to help people out who might be interested in having more than what is here. how pathetic of u that no matter what i post u will always have something offensive and ridiculous to say about it and so cowardly that u dont even want anyone to know who u are. pathetic.

  11. People tend to forget the significant reboot of nostalgia that came in the mid-seventies, everything from be-bop, doo-wop, oldies rock, beach boys and beatles. We saw a resurge of interest in the 50’s and 60’s, with radio stations dedicated to that era, such as K-earth 101FM in Los Angeles. Later on, we had Classic Rock from mainly late 60’s to 70’s. Labels made bucks for very little cost moving old titles. So it made sense for even Bread to try to have a go at it. Look at America still touring. I write this mainly for “young’uns” to the site.

  14. How about a link to some really cool funky jamband jazzfusion? From an unknown band, Retro Transit Authority. No, they are not a Chicago clone. No horns. Original music. downloadable up to flac. 6 concerts, some with soundboards. But I’m partial to this one due to their excellent performance and the warm sound: Retro Transit Authority Rusty’s Surf Ranch Santa Monica CA 21607 from

  15. What a childish bunch of idiots
Concentrate on the music or simply go away.

Most of us love this site and don’t expect to have to trawl through post after post of infantile rubbish.

Just listened to the first song and it’s enticed me enough to get the entire set, of a band I probably wouldn’t have given a second thought to
