This is a bootleg of the Dark Horse Radio Promo interview conducted by British DJ Nicky Horn in August 1974, the original of which seems to have been an LP distributed to US radio stations. The interview has previously surfaced on the “Dark Horse Radio Special” bootleg, but this one is in much better quality.

The interview dates from a brief flurry of promo activity in August/September 1974, when George launched Dark Horse Records, releasing singles by Splinter and Ravi Shankar in early September. George was still contracted to EMI via Apple at the time, so he couldn’t put his own music out on the label till the contract ran out at the end of 1975, so for a taste of the label, four tracks from Splinter and Ravi Shankar are presented - these have been expurgated here, of course.

There’s no talk of the impending North American tour, but there are some interesting mentions of his current relationship with the other Beatles, the movie “Little Malcolm and his Struggle against the Eunuchs” (which had just won an award), some of his financial arrangements, and religion (which the interviewer cuts off, unfortunately), as well as discussing the label [and] the group Splinter.

Leading up to the tour, this was one of the busiest periods of George’s life (record label, new acts, recording an album, helping others record theirs, then organising and rehearsing for the tour) and, ominously, he’s coughing sporadically throughout the interview…

  7. darth, what the hell?
i missed Dhani Harrison playing his dad’s songs on Conan O’Brien.
    Why?
‘Cause I count on YOU to tell me when this shit’s gonna be on!
What, were you too busy ripping off elderly-down-on-their-luck musicians to bother posting some damn TV listings?!
    Thanks for nothing, Glenn….

very time consuming editing his text of I me mine & a u every now & then…

he is putting together a tv chapter of: “every tv show & every commercial that has aired on American television…”

  10. first of all i postetd over a week ago that paul simon dhani harrison norah jones beck would all be on conan doing harrisons songs. if that wasnt enough i posted on early sunday the 21st as u can see above the link about the paul simon harrison thing. thats a full 3.5 days ahead of when dhani was on the show. he did 3 songs. one wasnt aired. if u need a link to the 3 songs i could have offered it to u but youre so fucking rude and obnoxious and ridiculously stupid and this non stop harassment towards me for no reason doesnt make me want to help u in any way.

i dont know why u think im ripping off anyone much less down on their luck musicians. but i dont think i really care what u think since youre obviously an idiot.
