BADFINGER
Cambridge 1974 [no label, 3CD]

Live at The Performance Center, Cambridge, MA; March 31, 1974. Fairly to very good mono audience recording.

Thanks to original uploader shopkin 527 (Steve Hopkins) ; and to Manimal for keeping the show alive at Dime.

Manimal noted:

While this is a mighty fine set on its own (two sets, actually!), I guess that at this point in rock history reconsideration it’s better known as “that time Badfinger ‘closed’ for Big Star’s still-officially-unreleased mighty bitchen March ‘74 show in Cambridge”. Which is fine… The thing is this double Badfinger show deserves to be on the tracker again.

Posted at guitars101.com:

This is the last (along with the late show) live recordings of classic Badfinger known to exist. They would play one more gig the following Friday in Chicago but Pete Ham would never perform again in America, a country that embraced Badfinger more so than their native lands (Wales and Liverpool, England).

It’s also reported that a March 1974 concert at the Cleveland Agora was recorded on 16-track tape for a possible live album release, even though the performance was deemed unsatisfactory at the time.

  4. i believe portions of that 3-4-74 agora show have leaked out in their original form… however 10 songs from the show have been released in 1990 albeit with horrible overdubs and remixing. it would be nice if someone were able to find that show pre doctoring. if people dont care and still want it.. u can get it from $1.59 for a used copy on cd up to $35 for a new copy on vinyl. there are some on cd for $6 too. all on amazon.

  7. theres one but there are a few who impersonate. one was using a capital D for a week or two. i had his posts removed but one or two were left up. then he started using a variation of the name saying Darth not darth or something equally stupid. for a few yrs a couple of idiots have used similar names with different first letters to mock or harass me but how many of me are there?? ha.. just one. u cant duplicate perfection. hehe.

  17. Thanks for sharing. I think I have some/most of this somewhere already, but never consolidated in one nice, neat little package. A great summation of a career cut too short.
