A BRAND NEW ZEPPELIN SOUNDBOARD

LED ZEPPELIN
Long Beach Californication [Empress Valley Supreme Disc EVSD 523-525, 3CD]
Live at the Civic Arena, Long Beach, CA, March 11, 1975. Very good soundboard.
This show has been circulating as a very good audience recording for a while, thanks to the efforts by the legendary Mike Millard (click here). Now Empress Valley has unveiled a soundboard recording of the show.
This is what the Underground Uprising Led Zeppelin website (www.uuweb.led-zeppelin.us) noted:
“While an excellent audience recording may better capture how the band overall was actually heard in the venue, a soundboard recording better captures how the band members did perform (and enjoy or struggle) on stage. The rule also applies to this release. For instance, it more clearly and vividly captures how Bonzo played his drum kits and yelled on stage.
“Although the tape is slightly distorted at the beginning, there is no noticeable hiss noise in the new soundboard, except that there is a very noticeable digital error at the end of Moby Dick. Accordingly, it could overall be deemed as one of the best and most well-balanced soundboard recordings from the band’s ‘75 shows. (Incidentally, in this title, EV elected to use the Millard tape at the beginning of CD1 in order especially to include the famous exciting opening announcement of “The American Return of Led Zeppelin!”.)
“In the latter half of the show, the band in fact played very well, even better than on 12 March [click here] in some places. For instance, Dazed And Confused is spectacular from ‘75 standard and Stairway To Heaven is flawless and gutsy. Jimmy also played better in the funcky section in Whole Lotta Love than on the following day.”
Thanks to Lincoln Park Mark for sharing the tracks.

Possibly one of the greatest Led Zeppelin primers is the Mothership release. It’s a bit bright but still a wonderful listen. Buy it here.

Ladies and Gentlemen thank you very much. Sort of planning a bonfire to welcome fall to Thompson this Saturday night. New live cuts of Dazed and Confused, Kashmir, Trampled Underfoot and and No Quarter will go nicely with some bottles of Octoberfest. Wish you could be here.

hey bigo, i got disc 1. yeah, i knew it was the soundboard version. i was just saying how this same show was offered last year, and i got it and st. valentines day massacre. i also got the both olympia shows(with french speaking and without). that one and the dancing avocado were the last two zep’s bigo offered in jan. i just keep stuff and have a good memory. it’s not costing us bigo readers anything just time and drive space. i have plenty of both.
thanks,
ed

This Is A Nice Edition For Any Led Zepp Collection, A Very Clean Soundboard Of The March 11, 1975 Longbeach,Not one Of Zepps
Finest Moments Though. A Good Show At Best
It Lacks Inspiration. Let’s Just Hope Empress Valley Will Continue With A Soundboard From The Next Night The 12th That Show Is A Stunner.
Oh And Let’s Not Forget The Seattle March 21, Show Maybe It Will Se The Light Of Day In Sounboard Also. The Vancouver March 19, Show Is An Awesome Performance Except For The
Version Of No Quarter. Due To Lack Of Communication. It’s A Downright Rockin’ Show.
