  2. The October 19 dates were from his only appearance hosting Hollywood Palace, then a variety show on ABC which ran for six years. Surprisingly, despite many well-known historic performances most of the shows are in public domain. Even though it is not Christmas, surprised no songs from Frank and Bing’s holiday special which aired in 1957 on ABC.

  3. Thanks for this quite enjoyable collection!

  4. This is a very nice little collection. That “Moonlight In Vermont” duet from ‘58 is fantastic. Doesn’t Ella have just a beautiful voice? She took over Chick Webb’s orchestra when he sadly passed away way before his time before WW2; even in ‘58 here she still had an incredibly dynamic voice. By the time I saw her on the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson in my youth, she was a mere shell of her former self. I am a rock’n'roll kind of guy, but this is very, very nice.

  5. This is great and historical to boot. Its a shame that people would rather rip each other apart over a dumb comment over Jimi Hendrix than to offer their thoughts on this.but thats the modern world i guess, more Sinatra please,Thanks

  8. If you have Audacity or some other digital editor, you can easily edit tracks 10 & 11 into done seamless whole. From track 10, Delete dead spaces (and the opening digital blip), then paste 10 onto the front of 11 and delete any dead spaces or digital blips. Took me about 2 minutes, and “Party Blues” is now a single complete track.
