TOM PAXTON
Coventry 1995 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry, UK; November 1995. Very good BBC Radio 2.

Thanks to jddpro for sharing the show at Dime.

jddpro noted:

This concert was broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in December 1995. Tom didn’t fill half of his show with Christmas songs like John Denver did - actually, I hesitated to call this a Christmas concert, as the only Christmas song here is “It Was a Night Like This” - but the song is so good that it filled the show with Christmas spirit!

The show was a double bill with Carolyn Hester. Though Carolyn’s set was not included in the broadcast, she can still be heard on several songs here. Carolyn’s husband, jazz pianist David Blume, backed Tom and Carolyn on keyboards on this joint tour. I’ve also included recordings of three songs from the same tour that were omitted in the broadcast.
