Paris/Wembley 1964 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the L’Olympia, Paris, France; January 16, 1964 (early and late shows). Very good radio broadcast. Live at Wembley Empire Pool, London, UK; April 26, 1964. Very good audio from TV broadcast.

Short and sweet…

Thanks to hooligan3244 for sharing the shows at Dime.

Thanks to reader ScarRad for the following:

Here is a copy of Can’t Buy Me Love from Wembley, April 26, 1964 from YouTube converted to 320 kbps. It is from the same broadcast color version.

Unfortunately, every one of the versions of I Saw Her Standing There from the L’Olympia concert that were available were fragmented, with several pieces gone. One of the channels commented that a number of the other songs were like this. However, I think they appeared to overstate the problem. I could not find a version of this song that did not have this problem.

Thanks to Caton for the following (google translated):

I am writing from Argentina. I have been a Beatle collector for 45 years. I sent you the song I Saw Her Standing There [Paris, January 16, 1964]. Only appeared on the bootleg: Les Beatles: The lost Paris Tapes. IT IS NOT OFFICIAL. It is a bootleg corresponding to that date. Greetings from Argentina.

  2. Hi
    Where was track 02 released?

By Daij on Apr 11, 2017

  3. Good question. The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963 (officially available through iTunes) has a couple of live versions of this song but not from 1964.

  4. Hello Daij and Chris W

Uploader hooligan3244 provided this catalogue number: Parlophone A8101 but that might not be accurate.

    By bigozine2 on Apr 11, 2017

  5. A8105 is an Australian 45rpm single (Love Me Do / I Saw Her Standing There) released on 16th January 1964 - the same day as the Paris concert. Curiouser and curiouser as Alice said…

  7. WOW! Thanks, BigO!

  8. I have an extensive Beatles collection and don’t see any official release of ISHST at L’Olympia, at least not in audio form. Maybe an official video or excerpt?
Except for the “Twist and Shout” excerpt from the Hollywood Bowl on “The Beatles Story” Capitol LP, there were no official releases of any full, live Beatles recordings until the Hollywood Bowl LP in 1976. The Parlophone A-8101 issue was a record by Billy J.Kramer and the Dakotas in late 1963, “I’ll Keep You Satisfied”.

  9. The single A8105 is an Australian 45rpm single (Love Me Do / I Saw Her Standing There) is a studio recording. It’s not live. Take 9 onto 1 of i saw here standig there. No recordings of the concerts in Paris were officially released.
    Saludos from Argentina

  10. Thanks, caton3. Yes, I did know that the tracks on the Australian single were both studio recordings. I just wondered if the release date had confused matters and made it look as though ISHST was live from Paris. Maybe it’s OK to share both of the missing songs now….?

    By Chris W on Apr 12, 2017

  11. Unfortunately, uploader hooligan3244 had omitted the respective tracks in the original share.
