Transmission Impossible [Eat to the Beat, CD3]

Disc 3: The Summit, Houston, FL; October 5, 1989. The Other Side Of The Mirror Tour. Very good FM broadcast.

Stephanie Lynn Nicks (born May 26, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter who is often referred to as the Queen of Rock and Roll. Nicks is best known for her work with Fleetwood Mac, and for her chart-topping solo career. She is known for her distinctive voice, mystical stage persona and poetic, symbolic lyrics. Collectively, her work both as a member of Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist has produced over 40 top-50 hits and sold over 140 million records, making her one of the best selling music acts of all time with Fleetwood Mac.

On the third CD, Stevie’s wonderful concert from The Summit in Houston in 1989 is featured, recorded a few months after the release of her majestic The Other Side of the Mirror record. This sublime show caps off this dynamic and delightful set of Stevie Nicks live recordings in style.

  2. I’m was never a fan of hers . She sings like a frog with a pole up her ass . I always liked Heart and Linda Ronstadt better .

  3. As you can read at the CD Cover the Show is from October the 6th and NOT from 5th.

  5. Terrific sound and great set list for this one. A true jewel. Thank you big O !!!!

  6. What exactly does a frog with a pole up its ass sound like? I consider myself fairly musically knowledgeable but this is a genre I am unfamiliar with.

  7. Thanks for the Stevie. When you gonna drop the last AC DC or Elvis ?

By Punky Skunk on May 24, 2018

  8. I just checked and it looks like she played Houston on 10/8/89. She played Dallas on 10/6, just to add more controversy to the “what date was it” debate. I always like having it exactly right too for my files…

  9. Oh, and thanks Big O! This was a great 3 concert set from Stevie! Great work as usual!

  10. Hey Punky,

If you read the info carefully, you will see that the last of the big AC/DC and Elvis sets will not include the last discs. With the AC/DC the last cd is video stuff and with Elvis it is a cd of badly recorded interviews. Somewhat disappointing but at least we got all of the best stuff. I was waiting for the stuff myself and then went back and read what I just posted. Hope this is helpful.

  11. If you’re going to use QUEEN and ROCK AND ROLL in the same sentence it always comes back to Joan Jett for me.

I always thought of Stevie as a turtle with the frog’s borrowed pole up there.
