Glastonbury 2019 [no label, 1CD]

Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts. Pyramid Stage, Worthy Farm, Pilton, UK; June 28, 2019. Very good audio (ripped from HDTV webcast).

On August 30, 2019, Sheryl Crow released Threads, her 11th and possibly final studio album. Threads is a collaborative album featuring many of Crow’s musical friends, heroes and newer artists.

Eleanor Halls,

Sheryl Crow captured the festival ethos in just five words, as the 57-year-old, nine-time Grammy winner opened her first Glastonbury set in 22 years with her eponymous 1996 single If It Makes You Happy. Flags representing all corners of the world rippled in Pilton’s dusty breeze, held up by smiling millennials swaying shoulder to shoulder with retired hippies who, instead of flags, waved their sunhats. The heat, over 28 degrees, combined with Crow’s wholesome, country croon, united the crowd in a blissful, sun-drunk haze… One millennial festival goer, hearing Crow for the first time, swiftly turned to her friends to crown the singer her “new girl crush. Fact”.

Casually dressed in a black T-shirt and glittery trousers, her face and physique not a day over 40, she swapped between her harmonica, electric and acoustic guitars with a lazy insouciance that kept the crowd at her tempo. Hands would go up at her command. The energy ebbed and flowed as she saw fit and, during a visit to her front row for a selfie, her acoustic still slung over her shoulder, fans kept a bashful distance.

By Pat Grooms on Sep 24, 2019

  5. Thanks Big O! I see what you did there! Clever . . . and funny too. Great set from one of the true American greats, still rocking’.
    It’s appreciated. More from Glastonbury?

Mr Groomer what on earth has Joni Mitchell got to do with it? Some of you guys would start an argument in a room on your own! Put on ‘All I Wanna Do’ and dance around the living room in your pants! My best advice!

    Have a great day all y’all! ;)

  9. Bruce Springsteen is a Jew . His real last name is Springstein. Sorry guys .

    By T J on Sep 24, 2019

  10. We don’t need another Joni Mitchell-one is enough, even though I like her music. Crow is herself, and that’s plenty good.

By Mark on Sep 25, 2019

  11. I dont know much about this woman but it aint classic rock for sure.

Been plaing my Cactus albums’ its weird, I think Anti and Universe are the same guy. They say Anti’s found God an I think I need to as well. If ya play the runoff groove on the end of side 1 of Whos Next backwards Roger says ya gotta give your life to Jesus. Plus I found out that though Dylan is a Jew he found Jesus a while back.

Gonna play Led Zep II then I will pray for Triple H ‘ Nelson and Bill.

  12. Derrick, you is the prodigal son. Let the Lord into your life and think no more impure thoughts about Joan Jett or Bonnie Raitt.

I will join your prayers for HHH ans will also pray for Jerry Disher. Man, i been playing an old Tom Petty 45, on the B side is a track called Synagogue Blues, you gotta believe God loves all his children, even Der Furher.

I hope everyone on here on BigO will bathe in Gods love. Bless you all now.

  15. Anti , is Springsteen really a fuckin jew bastard? Never heard that before. That’s news to me

By Derrick on Sep 25, 2019

  16. Guess one of the reasons I give Bob Dylan a pass as a fuckin Jew is cause he turned to Christianity back in the late 70s wit them Christian albums . Shot of love and slow train comin

By Derrick on Sep 25, 2019

  17. Sorry I think the two albums was slow train coming and saved . Shot of love was later I think . Don’t know if it was religious or not

By Derrick on Sep 25, 2019

  18. Hey I wasn’t dishing Sheryl Crow ‘ just said she wasn’t in Joni Mitchell’s league as a singer songwriter. But no other female is either.Joni is probably the best ever

By Pat Grooms on Sep 25, 2019

  19. In my opinion, Joan Baez had a much better voice. That said, I did see Joni Mitchell when she opened for Dylan many years back and enjoyed her performance. Linda Thompson of Richard and Linda Thompson), to my ears, was also a much better singer than Joni. But there’s no right or wrong, just opinions on this issue.

  20. Springsteen was not a kike. I think T J needs to do research.Raised a Catholic, Springsteen attended the St. Rose of Lima Catholic school in Freehold, where he was at odds with the nuns and rejected the strictures imposed upon him, even though some of his later music reflects a Catholic ethos and includes a few rock-influenced, traditional Irish-Catholic hymns.[10] In a 2012 interview, he explained that it was his Catholic upbringing rather than political ideology that most influenced his music. He noted in the interview that his faith had given him a “very active spiritual life” but joked that this “made it very difficult sexually”. He added, “Once a Catholic, always a Catholic.”[4][11] He grew up hearing fellow New Jersey singer Frank Sinatra on the radio and became interested in being a musician himself when, in 1956 and 1957, at the age of seven, he saw Elvis Presley on The Ed Sullivan Show. Soon after, his mother rented him a guitar from Mike Diehl’s Music in Freehold for $6 a week, but it failed to provide him with the instant gratification he desired.[12]

By Daniel on Sep 25, 2019
