I Hope We Passed The Audition [Purple Chick PC-67, 1CD]

Sessions and outtakes. 1961-1969. Very good soundboard. Public domain.

A great CD, collecting all the various pre-EMI recordings in one handy package. Sound is excellent throughout, but I could’ve lived without the ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’ backing track outfake (but I’ll have to admit it’s a neat idea, the Center Channel Extractor could have been tweaked a bit for slightly better fidelity, though) and I missed the US mono mix of ‘Ain’t She Sweet’ with overdubbed drums. Also, I would have picked a few alternate sources for the Decca recordings. Other than that, a perfect set!

  13. Great sound as always from Purple Chick; everything in one place, but nothing new. I keep hoping that something by The Beatles that hasn’t been released will turn up. Lots of great stuff is out there, but hasn’t made its way to the public.

  15. Hey Derrick, why’re you talking to me about Beatles v Stones?

I just lurk on here to find and trace racists. Why do you think your compadre Anti has stopped posting on here? It’s because, Derrick my friend, he’s in the Pen along with his “friend” HHH.

Are you going to hand yourself in or do we have to come to get you?
