Benefit For Keith Tippett
London 2018 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the
Vortex Jazz Club, London, UK; June 30, 2018. Very good audience recording.

Pianist Keith Tippett, composer, big band leader and educator, the father of what some have call ‘postmodern jazz, suffered a heart attack exacerbated by complications arising from pneumonia. Some dear friends and musicians have got together to raise some cash for him to help him through this difficult time while he is unable to work. All proceeds go to Keith Tippett Headlining will be Soft Machine. Acclaimed as one of the greatest UK avant/jazz-rock bands of all time their work continues to be name-checked by today’s hip experimentalists.
