Germany 2019 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Edenless Bar (private party), Leinfelden, Germany; November 19, 2019. Very good soundboard-audience matrix Opening act, Reyna.

Thanks to h2h for the recording; and to hanwaker for the mix and for sharing the show at Dime.

hanwaker noted:

The music Aziza Brahim makes reflects both the sorrow and the hope of these people. She grew up in one of those camps in the Algerian desert, along with thousands of other Saharwai who were removed from their homes in the Western Sahara. The refugee camp was the place that formed her. It lives in her every heartbeat.

Her grandmother was a famous Saharwai poet, her mother well known as a vocalist, and they passed their strength and fearlessness to her. Now, as one of North African most lauded singers, Brahim uses her position to make the plight of her people known - and of the refugees across the world who have no choice but to exist in the camps.

Opening act Reyna is a woman from Mexico who lives in Belgium. She is not a professional musician but a pure amateur with no commercial output. So why then does she play at Peter’s bar? Simply because she is the busdriver for Aziza Brahim’s tourbus!

  4. Who is this bozo

By Smashmouth on Jan 27, 2020

  5. Yes, Derrick has to divide everyone into categories, all so he can pretend that his category is better than the others. It’s a sad life when that’s all he has going for him.

  10. Looks like T J (if he’s not another Derrick alias) reads from the same lame playbook as Derrick and (another Derrick alias) HHH.

His/their hatred means nothing to me, other than a good laugh at their pitiful attempts to be relevant.
