MTV Unplugged is a live album by Bob Dylan, released on May 2, 1995 by Columbia Records (reissued in 2007 by Sony). It documents Dylan’s appearance on the then-highly popular MTV Unplugged television series, recorded at Sony Music Studios in New York City on November 17 and 18, 1994. It gave Dylan his best sales in years, reaching US No. 23 and going gold, while hitting No. 10 in the UK. The performance was released on DVD in March 2004, including a 5.1 surround sound mix. - wikipedia

The only performance I liked from the special was “Dignity.” The rest seemed like he was going through the motions. He later said he wanted to do solo acoustic versions of obscure blues songs, but MTV “wouldn’t let me.” Yeah, like Dylan wasn’t powerful enough to do anything he wanted.

The most famous Unplugged, and the best one ever is Nirvana. Everyone knows that. The 2nd best one ever was Aerosmith. They had a blistering performance featuring many of their earliest hits. There’s even a bootleg of their entire performance, which Big O could post if they haven’t already. Clapton’s Unplugged is also up near the top, as it gave his career a jolt and was nominated for 9 Grammy’s. Those are the best 3. I’m excited to hear these session featuring rock icon Bob Dylan.
