Dublin 1226 Day 1 [1989] [Moonchild Records MC045, 2CD]

Lovetown Tour Soundboard Series. Live at the Point Depot, Dublin, Ireland; December 26, 1989. Very good soundboard.

Said to be one of the best shows U2 ever played.

Thanks to jesusmahdi for sharing the show at Dime.

The verse Bono sings at the end of One Tree Hill is completely improvised; it is not a snippet. Part of a William Wordsworth poem is read at the start of Where The Streets Have No Name in tribute to the recently deceased Irish poet Samuel Beckett. This show features the first use of God Part II as an opener - the only other time it takes this role is on January 5, 1990 in Rotterdam.

  5. Bono once wrote to Captain Beefheart expressing the desire to work together and write something maybe. The Captain sent him a hand written reply, that said
    “Dear Bongo, No!”
