MARK KNOPFLER & RANDY NEWMAN
London 1988 [no label, 1CD]

Live In Session at the BBC Concert Hall, London, UK; December 3, 1988. Very good FM broadcast.

Thanks to original Dime uploader frogster; and to Macrinus for keeping the show alive at The Traders’ Den.

In November 1988, Randy Newman recorded his album Land of Dreams on which Mark Knopfler played on several tracks. As a promotion for the album, Randy and Mark appeared in various shows and played some tracks.
Some rare recordings and rarely performed songs. Very interesting interview, mainly with Randy Newman but also with Mark Knopfler.

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  11. Not me above DD , more Jew bastards, Dic suckin name hijackers

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  12. DD , I can’t take much more of this shit . Hank Aaron is probably the biggest of the bigs in terms of the hall of famers we had lost . No doubt the biggest name of them all . He is the true home run king . Not Barry mr steroids Bonds who cheated to get the record

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  13. I lived in ga as a kid and though I was a Cardinals fan the Atlanta Braves was always on the radio and local tv so I followed em usually wit my little transistor radio . Remember them ?

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  14. The Braves as a team never did much back then although they did get to the NLCS in 69 and got swept by the Mets who would go in to beat the Orioles in the World Series

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  15. I remember Hank Aaron hit a home run in all three playoff games that year and hit 400 . He was clutch and played very well . The Braves wore out the Mets pitching if Seaver , Koosman and Gary Gentry, but their own staff got pounded by the Mets . Every playoff game was hi scoring wit the Mets winning every game . That was Hanks last chance to get back to the World Series, although he got to two in the 50s when the Braves was in Milwaukee

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  16. RIP Mr Henry Aaron . No black ape was he. He was a gentleman. Sad day for baseball and sports . I can’t believe the number if baseball greats that have died in the last year . Is baseball cursed ?

By HHH on Jan 23, 2021

  17. It sucs triple h , a piece of you dies everytime another legend leaves us . So many childhood and Young adulthood memories. I can still see Hank hittin them line drives over them fences . He was still hittin 35 to 45 home runs in his late 30s early 40s . Fuck man he hit 47 in 71 at age 37 and witout steroids

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  18. DD , derrick, I remember Mr Aaron on a late night talk show just a few years ago saying he couldn’t understand the behavior of the modern black athletes, of course I call them apes , for ape behavior. All the old school black athletes were / are appalled by how these modern ape athletes behave on the field and basketball courts . Bill Russell, Alcindor, Chamberlain Dr J . None of them acted this way . Same with all sports. Players all had respect and dignity regardless of race . It’s this modern generation of hip hop thugs with their dreadlocks and tattoos.

By HHH on Jan 23, 2021

  19. Hank Aaron dying is huge . The real home run king . He didn’t juice up to get the record R.I.P.

    By T J on Jan 23, 2021

  20. There’s a drive it’s way back . It’s gonna be outta here .

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  21. Milo Hamilten the great Braves announcer

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  22. Milo called all the Braves games back then along with Ernie Johnson senior. I think they has passed away too .

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  23. DD , you had a great announcer too back then . The legendary Chuck Thompson who called games for the Baltimore Orioles as well as the Baltimore Colts , back I the days of Frank and Brooks Robinson and Johnny Unitas

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  24. I remember Chuck Thomson used to wear a fedora hat on the air

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  25. I used to go to concerts and play baseball.

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  26. Rumour has it that HHH is brain dead.

By MrSmith on Jan 23, 2021

  27. When the Legendary Hank Aaron broke the Babe’s record, the Braves were playing Los Angeles Dodgers. We got to see the TV footage of the home run, and the retired but still alive Los Angeles announcer Vin Scully called the game live for the Los Angeles fans. When Hank rounded the bases, Vin was silent, and let everyone hear the great cheering of the fans. Hank was more than an Atlanta Brave team member that day. No, that day he belonged to all of baseball.

By ScarRad on Jan 23, 2021

  28. DD , triple h . The great Johnny Bench said losin all these fellow hall of famers is like gettin pounded to the body , being gut punched non stop . Johnny was havin some financial problems and decided to auction off his baseball memorabilia so he could give his kids some financial security. He said that all these deaths was what made him decide to do it

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  29. A lifelong friend bought most of his baseball stuff , mvp awards , gold gloves etc and gave em back to Johnny. Johnny was in tears cryin bout it . Sort of a heartwarming story

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  30. Yeah Derrick, who can forget transistor radios. I still have one or two some place.

By DD on Jan 23, 2021

  31. Derrick **a piece of you dies everytime another legend leaves us** There can’t be much left of you then. You must be all skin and bone.

By DD on Jan 23, 2021

  32. and I thought you lived in gaga land Derrick

By DD on Jan 23, 2021

  33. HHH, brain dead??? Shirley knot. Hopefully it’s just a rumor.

By DD on Jan 23, 2021

  34. Guys I read that Aaron got the covid vaccine a couple of weeks earlier. Then he dies not long afterwards. It makes you think that we still don’t know much about these vaccines and the side effects. They haven’t listed a cause of death yet . They rushed to get these vaccines on the market . That’s why a lot of people don’t trust them .

By Nelson on Jan 23, 2021

  35. Just like covid . Everything affects people differently. That’s why some people get sick and die while others have no symptoms. Same with vaccines. Everybody’s body reacts differently . They needed more testing before they were on the market

By Nelson on Jan 23, 2021

  36. Good fuckin point Nelson . Lots of pressure to hype these motherfuckin vaccines. It’s weird that Hank was doin fine , and then dies two weeks after gettin the shot . What the fuck is goin on ? Back in the day doctors and medical people cared bout people’s health. Now it’s bout money and corporate bullshit . Nobody cares bout nobody no more . Everybody is just a case number these days

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  37. My grandma used to get house visits from her doctors. They cared bout their patients. They was on a first name basis . She had a bad heart . Dr Joe , that’s what we called him once came to the house at 2 in the fuckin morning to check on her . He was in his fuckin pajamas for christ sakes . This was in 1969 . No way that happens today. We could call him at his house . These days doctors just see the $$$. People are guinni pigs and case numbers .

By Derrick on Jan 23, 2021

  38. I concur. Mr Aaron age 86 gets a vaccine to promote how safe it is for the public, then dies two weeks later .. coincidence? Maybe , maybe not . Orange face pushed to get a rush job on these vaccines without proper testing and research. Like coronavirus it appears to pick and choose who is adversely affected.

  39. The Corpse with Dementia Joe Blow Biden’s polices so far are not very reassuring. He mandates masks , but only on government properties, instead of a complete national mandate for anyone in an indoor public setting. Sort of worthless in my opinion. People in grocery stores , Wal Mart , Home Depot etc still refuse to wear masks and argue with management when asked to put them on . Sometimes when inside they remove them or wear them below their noses . Perhaps a mandatory $500.00 fine would make the message clear . So far no go for Joe Blow .

By HHH on Jan 23, 2021

  40. Plus all the virus infested illegals the corpse has his open waiting arms opened for . Big Hypocrite.

By HHH on Jan 23, 2021

  41. Hhh , Biden reminds me of that dead guy in the movie Breakfast At Bernies

By Nelson on Jan 23, 2021

  42. He sure stutters a lot when he speaks . Probably early stages of Alzheimer’s.

By Nelson on Jan 23, 2021

  43. I’ve become an assassin. I will shoot to kill. Nobody better fuck with me

By Billy on Jan 23, 2021

  44. I meant weekend at bernies earlier, my mistake. Biden reminds me of the dead corpse. Doubt he makes it through his first term .

By Nelson on Jan 24, 2021

  45. I have it from the dark web, that second vaccine shot mixes with the first shot ,after some time, it makes you give up your guns. your balls shrink. and other things happen

By Richard Jay on Jan 25, 2021
