Philadelphia 1973 [Another Panda Project, 1CD]

Live at the Bijou Café, Philadelphia, PA; March 16, 1973. Very good FM broadcast (remastered).

Thanks to lilpanda for sharing this remaster at Dime.

lilpanda noted:

I remember Fripp once talking about working on early Crimson shows was like necromancy. Now I know what he means. Knowing it was a sb/fm, I went in hopefully. Ha! I got slapped down fast. What a damn mess. I can’t even begin to list what I had to go through - radical eq, two different settings, hiss reduction, noise reduction, click repair, channel mixing, etc etc. No two songs got the same treatment

I kept feeling like I was walking on holy ground. There are so few Gram shows out there. This thing obviously passed down through many hands (and messed with many times) now it’s in my hands. I really hope I’ve succeeded in improving this for the new generation.

Some warnings:

- The start of Love Hurts is a mess - it’s been marred too much to save.
- Dialogue between songs can’t be rescued, with a few exceptions. Personally, I will probably cut most of it out.
- Sin City, being so damn soft, will not sound as good as the rest.
- It does seem that Gram was pretty pissed off by the show’s end.
- And, of course, my thanks to the original seeder zagortenay.

  17. great show. I know there is a better quality recording in existence, perhaps it will be officially released one day.

first song is Flint Hill Special, an Earl Scruggs song that Buddy Emmons recorded on pedal steel in the late 50s.

ND Smart the drummer does most of the talking between songs, that’s him after Sin City and before Jambalaya.

  19. Big O. the time has come to shut down the comments section. whats the point of this

By swappers on Aug 12, 2021

  20. swappers: been pm’ing BigO asking for them to do so for quite a while. Maybe enjoys watching the fools show their intelligence. There’s no need of a comment section with this ongoing childish crap.

  21. BigO don’t give a FUCK, losers.

You haven’t figured that out yet??????

By Derrick on Aug 12, 2021

  22. Pas moi, mes braves
Another imitator but I only drop by down into the pond life sludge of the comments to rattle the morons. Fun when you’re bored to poke a Merkin! ;)
Keep the music coming Big O so much good stuff. He can keep a comments section if it amuses. Most of the time the majority don’t even bother
Trolls on the comments? Who reads ‘em?

By swappers on Aug 12, 2021

  23. The loser and their multiple personalities should take their ravings away from this music site. No one’s interested in racist childish ravings here but I’m sure there’s a website out there for you, with other like minded folks. Each to their own.

    Thanks for the Gram BigO

  27. Gram was very very big . Huge in fact . Once I had a foursome with Gram , Keith Richards and Emmylou Harris . It was during The Rolling Stones 1972 US tour . Keith was oh my god even bigger than Gram . Emmylou was so soft and gorgeous. I became bi that night . I was also sooo young . Still a teenager. I remember Trumon Capote watching us jerking off . Gram and Keith must have killed off two bottles of Jack as well as done a ton of smack . God I miss being young in the 70,s

By Groupie Chick Traci on Aug 15, 2021

  28. Tracy , Capote was as gay as they come . If he was jacking off , it’s because he was busy watching Keith and Grams big dics . Not your smelly snatch .
