LED ZEPPELIN
Jesus - Bloomington 1975 [EVSD, 2CD]

First night of the 1975 tour. Live at the Met Center, Bloomington, MN; January 18, 1975. Very good soundboard. Goody Speed/Pitch-adjusted Edition.

Thanks to Goody and to dadgad for sharing the show at Dime.

Notes:

Before ‘The Song Remains The Same’: Robert - “Thank you. Uh… Our journeys to America, um, are always quite eventful during the time that we’ve spent here, and unfortunately we took the decision to rehearse before we came this time and in so doing Jimmy had the misfortune to break one of his fingers… one of his fingertips. So what you hear tonight, in fact, is a two-and-a-half-fingered guitarist. I think that’s fantastic. Can you imagine the press report in the morning in the paper, you know? ‘Two-and-a-half-fingered guitarist? Yeah, yeah, yeah…’ “

The speed/pitch of the source runs a bit fast, averaging between 13-28 cents sharp. That issue has been corrected for this edition.

  3. Derrick, unusual version of When The Levee Breaks. I wish Zeppelin would of played some more Yardbirds material. Listen to Think About It by Jimmy Page. He was already playing Im Confused and White Summer. Wished they of done 10 little indians and happening 10 years ago. Tinker Tailor No excess baggage Im a Man Wish you would and Aint Done Somebody Wrong all great classics

Wish Jimmy would have included this on a Zep album. Would have been interesting to hear with Bonham’s drumming and Plant’s vocals.

    By U L E on Sep 18, 2021

  13. With Robert and Bonham being the Big Uns , John Paul the Lil Un , and Jimmy the Average Un

    By U L E on Sep 18, 2021

  14. Robert Plant definitely had a big un . Look at that bulge in his tight jeans in the concert movie song remains the same .

    By T J on Sep 18, 2021

  15. That bulge in Plants pants was said to be rolled up socks . An old rock star trick . Elvis did the same thing .

  22. In my opinion, Richard Thompson is a way better guitarist than Page. Thompson’s solos add to the song, whereas for me, Page’s are mainly show-off noise.

By Mark on Sep 19, 2021

  23. Who the fuck is Richard Thompson???? Fairport Convention. Are you kidding me? He’s not even in the TOP 100 guitarists in Melody Maker. Heartbreaker is probably one of the greatest solos in history.Cmon man.

By DD on Sep 19, 2021

  24. There will never be another Led Zeppelin. Ever.

By DD on Sep 19, 2021

  25. Mark should get what Joe Pesci got at the casino

By Derrick on Sep 19, 2021

  26. Derrick, we need some Vanilla Fudge. Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice from Cactus played with the Fudge

By DD on Sep 19, 2021

  27. What does U L E and a major league baseball catcher have in common??????? They’ve both been hit in the face with balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Leviathan on Sep 19, 2021

  28. DD , Thompson is a good guitar player , but comparing him to Jimmy Page is like comparing a ford to a fuckin Mersades or Porche . Jimmy is way better

By Derrick on Sep 19, 2021

  29. So was Hendrix , Townshend, Clapton, Iaomi , Frampton, Eddie Van Halen Joe Perry

By Derrick on Sep 19, 2021

  30. Mick Taylor , Dwane Allman too

By Derrick on Sep 19, 2021

  31. Also Mick Ronson , Gary Richrath

By Derrick on Sep 19, 2021

  32. Throw in Glenn Buxom from the original Alice Cooper band . Back when they was a kick ass Rock band , not the Vince Furiner freak show

By Derrick on Sep 19, 2021

  33. DD I think we is kissin to much ass . We need to save some for triple h

By Derrick on Sep 19, 2021

  34. I don’t care - I don’t want to join in any more .

By HHH on Sep 19, 2021

  35. If your exposure to Thompson is limited to Fairport Convention, you have a very incomplete musical education. His guitar work on his albums with Linda also pales to his stellar work afterwards. Check out live versions of “Shoot Out the Lights,” “Put it There, Pal,” and many others. Yes, It’s a different style of music and guitar playing, so it is apples and oranges.

By Mark on Sep 19, 2021

  36. Why do they keep posting this show over and over ? Zep sounds like crap here . They are geezers here , in fact they were geezers by 73 . Plants voice is shot and the band is sloppy . Why not post some 69 thru 71 shows when Zep could really bring it ?

By Pat Grooms on Sep 19, 2021

  37. That was no sock in Roberts jeans you needle dic . It was all DIC K . Got that . I should know , after fucking the entire band many times in the seventies. Robert had a horse dic , as did John Bonham . Jimmy and JPJ were on the small side .

By Pam Des Barris . on Sep 19, 2021

  38. Jimmy was into that satanic shit back then . Whips , Chains and wizard costumes . He would sometimes wear a wizard hat naked in his hotel room . The rest of the band thought he was full of shit . Bonham was going to kick Jimmys ass over that devil worshipping shit , Robert had to separate them .

By Pam Des Barris . on Sep 19, 2021

  39. pam, was it true when bonham was playing that long drum solo during moby dic, the rest of the band were backstage getting fucked and sucked and getting stoned. at one concert i thought i saw a groupie and jimmy was getting his pipes cleaned on stage in a dark corner
