New Haven 1971 [no label, 1CD]

Yale Bowl, New Haven, Connecticut; July 24, 1971 (opening for Grand Funk Railroad). Very good soundboard.

Here is one for the collectors.

Thanks to Lucifer Burns for sharing the tracks at Dime.

ledwhofloyd, Dime:

Two-channel mono (?)… I’m not a cassette expert by any means, but I imagine it’s something like this: You start off with a mono tape. Then it gets read/played back on a stereo deck. It’s being read in the analog domain which is not perfect so each channel on the tape copy or digital transfer naturally ends up a little different than the original mono tape. And the differences between the channels can be increased by misaligned azimuth. So the two channels do sound different, but there isn’t really any true stereo difference between them. If cassette experts (and I know there are many on here) think this is not an accurate description, please correct me.

  8. I went backstage and offered to suck them off but they weren’t having any. It was different times then, I asked the roadies but they called me a queer and pissed on me, which was nice. Better was Lou Reed on his 72 tour, he and the band used me for bukkake
