MERLE HAGGARD & THE STRANGERS
Nashville 1981 [no label, 1CD]

Live at Opryland, Nashville, TN; January 1981. Very good vinyl rip (radio broadcast).

Thanks to morningcalm for sharig the show at Dime.

morningcalm noted:

The Best of The Silver Eagle #13 (aired 1981-07-13)

The original airing of this show was on 1981-02-14. It was the second Silver Eagle show. As for the date, everyone else lists this as February 13 or 14. I think that is because of the  air date. Merle mentions remembering Elvis the day of the show. I believe this show was around January 8
because that was Elvis’ birthday. Not sure of the day of the show, but I’m dating it in January, which fits the air date. I would guess January 10.

This is the most widely available Hag show online, but none I have found are commercial quality.
The best ones are MP3. This is no longer on DIME.

This upload differs from all others on the internet due to this REALLY being directly from vinyl.  Others I have come across (including DIME) are either FM, lossy or claimed to be from vinyl, but have quality issues. This is from my near mint vinyl on a fresh transfer.

There is an earlier airing of this, but it is identical, except for the announcer portion. It appears the original show is SE-02 with an air date of 1981-02-14.

This has all segments with the announcer, the show open and close. Everything except commercials. I think I have all Merle Haggard live radio shows in one form or another and this is my favorite.
