JONI MITCHELL
Sydney 1983 [Goody Speed/Pitch-adjusted Remaster, 2CD]

Live at the Sydney Opera House, Sydney, NSW, Australia; March 23, 1983. Very good FM broadcast.

Thanks to Goody for sharing the show at Dime.

Goody noted:

Many thanks to all those involved - from the original notes:

The original concert was recorded for Australian television. I have been told it was a test stereo telecast (regular stereo TV did not start in Australia until the following year). Apparently it was not simulcast on FM stations which probably explains its rarity. The audio was taken from a German made Nordmende VCR, which was the only commercially available VCR in Australia at the time that would receive stereo. These were not hi-fi VCRs so the audio was passed through to a reel-to-reel recorder.

Lineage:
FM Audio Nordmende VCR > Recorded on: Otari 5050 recorder (19 cm/second) > Replayed on: Sony TC-755 > Harmony HA02 DA converter (16bit 44KHz) > AIFF lossless > WaveArts Master Restoration hum reduction (50Hz plus 2 harmonics) applied as required and usually only in quieter passages > FLAC > Usenet > PC HD
Downloaded from Usenet (alt.binaries.sounds.lossless.bootlegs) - thanks to the poster!

Goody’s additional lineage:
foobar2000 (WAV) > Audition (Pitch bender, various amounts; create separate ‘Band Intro’ track’; some other tracking updated) > TLH (FLAC Level 8; Align sector boundaries; .ffp) > foobar2000 (tags)
