JIMI HENDRIX
Hendrix For Everyone [ATM, 4CD]
The Complete Four-Hour KPFA Radio Special
Vol 3: The Blues
KPFA Radio in California had in the past broadcast a four-hour radio special on Jimi Hendrix.
With the passing of Mitch Mitchell (November 12, 2008), which marks the end of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, this becomes an important show to remember Hendrix and the group and a learning experience for new listeners. Apart from the band’s music, the show also features lots of interviews with Hendrix. Listeners will also learn how certain songs have influenced Hendrix (for example, Hey Joe) and in turn how his songs have influenced others. The show also features some “experimental” music/jam that Hendrix played with John McLaughlin.
The shows are as follows:
Vol 1: Birth Of The Experience
Vol 2: The Height Of Success
Vol 3: The Blues
Vol 4: Epilogue
These shows will be shared over the next few days.
Being a radio show, it is inevitable that official material will be used and excerpts from many Hendrix tracks are heard. In the spirit of sharing (information), we hope everyone will approach these shows with a generous heart. But if anyone seriously object to any of the tracks, kindly email us at mybigo@bigozine.com and we will remove the track.
Click on the highlighted tracks to download the MP3s (these are high quality stereo MP3s - sample rate of 192 kibit/s).
These tracks are no longer available for download. Kindly email us at mybigo@bigozine.com if you want to download them at a later date.
