PINK FLOYD
BBC Archives 1967-1969 [Last Scream, 2CD]

BBC sessions, 1967-1969. Very good to excellent radio broadcast?

“Breathe… breathe in the air…”

Well, this is where we take a breather from Pink Floyd’s Complete Rainbow 1972 eight-CD set.

These BBC tracks have been shared in various versions and revisions though this particular set has just been released as factory-pressed silver discs in Japan.

We had previously shared the May 12, 1969 Top Gear session here and here.

The June 25, 1969 Top Gear session was shared here.

Unfortunately, we do not have any lineage for this “new” set of tracks and collectorsmusicreviews.com mentioned this as the “Ultimate Edition”.

For those who want to find out more, here is a write-up for the Harvested RevB version.

Thanks to Lincoln Park Mark for sharing the tracks.

  2. Hey Big O -thanks for this post! I have various incarnations of most of this music on other bootlegs, the quality on some of them being REALLY BAD. This seems to be the best possible sound quality for all of these tunes, and I don’t have GREEN ONIONS or a couple of those Instrumentals anywhere else, so THANK YOU - also for the RAINBOW shows. KILLER! It helps offset the cost of the DARK SIDE IMMERSION BOX - ouch! (It’s worth it, though) So thanks again, and looking forward to RAINBOW DAY 3. And I’ve only downloaded the first Disc of this BBC set, so can’t wait to hear the second! Cheers. . .

  4. Thanks! Hoping to listen to this today. Looks similar to the Top Gear release you posted a week or so ago with the addition of a few other cuts. Now about those “Household Object Sessions…..” any chance of exposing that material? or are the rumors overrated?

  5. I`ve had just about everything in this collection on tape for years but not with this sound quality. From a true fan I can only say thank you very much.

  6. This is @ Tom - The househild object sessions were maybe not over-rated but they were more interesting to think about than actually hear.I know of only two things that have survived…the glasses that were used for the beginning of Shine On and I heard a peice of tape about 1 minute long with the stretching of different lenghts of tape which was, well, interesting but I have no idea what they could possibly had done with it.

  7. Great stuff as always. Thanks, BigO!

  8. This is for Tom and Couz - two cuts from HOUSEHOLD OBJECTS are being officially released: One is called THE HARD WAY, and it’s included in the DARK SIDE IMMERSION BOX SET. It has an actual melody and it’s interesting, although apparently the bass part was played on a large rubber band. And the WINE GLASSES that Tom mentioned you can get on the WISH YOU WERE HERE EXPERIENCE SET - haven’t heard that one yet. Maybe this is all the band could retrieve as being releasable.

  9. I heard an excerpt from the WYWH immersion set with wine glasses, very cool.

  10. I’m anxious to hear the other stuff from the WEMBLEY 74 gig - You’ve Gotta Be Crazy, etc. - YES!!

  11. This is great!

Got a good copy of The Final Cut demos? I’ve only discovered really poor versions…

  12. Those folks REALLY interested in the “wine glass intro” to WYWH should get the David Gilmour Gdańsk concert DVD (enDOTwikipediaDOTorgSLASHwikiSLASHLive_in_Gdańsk). It actually SHOWS the musicians playing the wine glasses (to great effect, I might add). And it’s a killer set, of course.

Thanks Big O for all you do!
