Elvis Presley - The Brightest Star On Sunset Boulevard: REMASTER [Gravel Road 2CD hungercity 5480] Rehearsals RCA studios Hollywood, July 24, 1970. Ex SBD stereo. This is the same as the Fort Baxter release. But this 2008 issue has a different mix [sound]. "I will hesitate to call it an upgrade because opinions differ, some prefer the sound of the old version, however to these ears this one is much more what you would expect from an official release - the sound is more three dimensional as opposed to the flat soundboard of the old FB releases. On the downside it is also significantly quieter, to the point where if you do a side-by-side comparison between the old and new you really have to crank it up to hear the new version. But then that's what volume dials were made for right?"

Rolling Stones - A Brussels Affair: The Quad Mix [no label 1DVD-R dime 245357] live in Brussels, Belgium, Oct 17, 1973 and originally b'cast on King Biscuit Flower Hour in quadrophonic surround. This version is taken from the original 4.0 SQ Quadrophonic mix as it was originally broadcasted. "After months of searching for a good copy that would actually decode the SQ I came across the Rattle Snake version of this great show! As with the other 5 or 6 I found I did some preliminary work of a couple of songs and found that it did indeed decode into 4.0 SQ quad. In the rears you will hear lead guitar, horns, some keyboards and of course the crowd. The sounds from the rear are pretty distinct and the show now has a much bigger sound IMHO. This actually seems to be from an original copy of the show tapes and not a copy of a copy of a copy." - thomasmc. Ex SBD surround. LOSSY source. NOT FOR TRADE.

The Beatles - The Red Light's On [Jfc Records & Tapes 7CDs demonoid 1871269; 1872925; 1874470; 1876100; 1877391; 1878890; 1880239] "In the spring of 1983, engineer John Barrett and disc jockey Roger Scott landed what many would consider a dream job: listening to Beatles studio session tapes in a mixing suite at Abbey Road. Barrett had been in charge of cataloging EMI's Beatles tape library for over a year, and Scott was brought in to assist him in shaping an audiovisual presentation for the public, The Beatles At Abbey Road.

"As they auditioned various recordings, Barrett made cassette compilations of various outtakes, creating fresh stereo mixes from the multitracks. Scott also took the liberty of dubbing some session reels from start to finish, along with a few vintage mixes. The result was nearly eight hours of pristine-quality unreleased Beatle material which ended up on various bootlegs over the last 25 years: Ultra Rare Trax, Unsurpassed Masters, et al.

"We have compiled ALL of the Barrett/Scott tapes here, straight from the vaults to your ears. All that's missing are the low-fi offline 'bag tapes' recorded stealthily by Scott. Not only do those repeat much of this material, they would interrupt what is a pleasant listening experience. The tapes have been sorted in chronological order, speed-corrected, and edited for completeness from various best sources. No noise reduction or equalization has been employed. Sit back, relax, and for God's sake be quiet! The Red Light's On!"

This is a great fan compilation with just the odd slightly-lower quality track here and there. Ex SBD stereo/ mono. Worthy of repeated listening.

George Harrison - Dark Horse Presents: A Personal Music Dialogue with George Harrison at 33 1/3 [Dark Horse 2CD] This is the 1976 promo LP with the interview plus all the music from the 33 1/3 album added. Ex SBD stereo.
