Neil Young - Chrome Dreams: The
Unreleased Album [no label 1CD] A fresh 2008 bootleg
of the fan compiled lost album. "Chrome Dreams features a large amount of
still-unreleased material. The version of "Powderfinger" included is
the original acoustic demo, while the "Sedan Delivery" featured is at
a slower pace than the take and contains an additional verse. "Pocahontas"
is the same version heard on Rust Never Sleeps but without the overdubs.
"Hold Back the Tears" is a radically different take compared to the one that appears on American Stars 'N Bars, also featuring
additional lyrics. "Too Far Gone" would not see
release until 1989's (Neil Young album)" Freedom. It is presented on
Chrome Dreams with Crazy Horse's Frank "Poncho" Sampedro accompanying
Young on a 1917 mandolin. "Stringman", a piano ballad, was (according
to Shakey) written for Jack Nitzsche and is presented as a performance from
Young's 1976 European tour with some studio overdubs. Eighteen years later
Young revived it for his Unplugged performance, never having released the song
as a studio track. "Homegrown" here is a different mix than the version
on American Stars 'n Bars. The rest of the songs are
for the most part identical with slightly different mixes to their releases on
subsequent albums." Ex SBD stereo. This is close to the Rust Edition.

+ + + + + Pink Floyd - The Syd Barrett Tapes [no

outtakes and BBC b'casts remastered by needledrop 2008. "This set was
compiled from the best available sources. Fan-made mutli-disc sets such as
"Have You Got It Yet" were not used. These sets tend to be
over-processed for mass consumption. This set is mastered from an audiophile
standpoint. Mono material appears in true mono and not re-processed stereo. There
was no additional echo or ambience added. Noise reduction was not used on any
material. Hiss was often reduced with judicious equalization. I have tried to
present the best sonic experience possible without compromising the integrity
of the source material at hand. If you need just one concise Syd Barrett
bootleg in your collection, then this would be the one." - needledrop. Ex stereo/mono.

this. There's a handful of great sounding outtakes around, so I substituted
them, removed the two older songs that were obviously put in as filler at the
end, and shuffled the order slightly. This might be my favorite Linda cd, and
it certainly is the hardest rocking of the 70's output. For the non outtake songs, I usd my target pressing of the cd from

patch each in "Foxy Lady" (76), "Lover Man" (25) (actually
after the song during the applause), and "Hear My Train A-Comin'" (38). "Machine Gun" (14) had 3
problem areas, of which one has been patched. The other 2 were cuts where
respectively 2:00 and 1:03 of music was missing. The track is included here in
2 versions. One (7:13) has these cuts smoothed out, but not patched, while the
other (composite version) has the cuts patched, and thereby restored to its

Prince - Come: Original Test Pressing [no label 1CD demonoid 1488593] "Evidently
made to resemble the March 1994 configuration of the Come album, this is an
excellent release and an extremely clever idea. As is the problem with these
releases, a number of the tracks are no different to the officially released
versions - however the opening three songs are alternate versions. The disc
begins with 'Poem' which would later become an extended version of 'Come' and
includes portions which were lifted and made into segues on the album along
with 'Orgasm'. 'Interactive' contains an intro of Prince laughing which is not
present on the released version, but it is very short. 'Endorphinmachine' is
far less cluttered than the released version with a more "live"
sound. The remainder of the tracks do not differ from
the released versions. The quality throughout is stunningly clear and certainly
a match for the official release. Nice idea for a release, and very nicely
presented." - Databank. Ex SBD stereo. NOT FOR
