Tks 9-12 Studios of KGSR, Bastrop, TX March 17, 1995. Ex FM stereo. "In
the interminable wait for Lucinda's breakthrough masterpiece, Car Wheels
on a Gravel Road, she played annually at SXSW, debuting material that
would eventually appear on the album as far back as 1994. In 1995, she
took the stage fully convinced that the album was nearly done, though
it would take almost three years and two additional production teams to
finish the effort. But on this night, Lucinda, Gurf Morlix and the band,
joined by Ian McLagan on keyboards, played seven songs from the as-yet-unreleased
album; the following day, Lu and Gurf went to KGSR, played another three
and talked about the record and the show the night before. For my money
these performances, especially songs like "Car Wheels" that feature McLagan,
are nothing short of brilliant and some of these have never sounded fresher
or, arguably, better." Fan compilation that circulates as Junebug VS Hurricane
but includes Williams appearances in 1994 and 1996. This edition is of

Tom Waits - The Black Rider Demos + Performances [no label 1CD Torrent:
95772] Tks 1-14 These are the tracks recorded by Waits and given to Germany's
Thalia Theatre for their production of The Black Rider. Wonderfully
raw and spirited, with many tracks that were never released on his cleaned-up
album 'The Black Rider', this is a must-have for Waits fans. I think that
most versions here are superior to the official release, in fact. 'Down
the Reeperbahn' is totally over the top, and perhaps the gem on here.
(Note: at times it sounds as if this were taken from a vinyl source.)
