New York 1976 [no label, 1CD]

Live at The Ocean Club, New York City, NY; August 17, 1976. Very good to excellent audience recording? (some feel this could be a “raw” soundboard).

At the beginning of June 2012, music collector Hans Devente, aka Madtaper, shared this tape on his blog. Edited from the original cassette, Hans ripped the tracks to a single WAV file.

CurtisEFlush got copy of the tracks and shared them on Demonoid.

CurtisEFlush noted: “As for the noise reduction, I like a tiny bit to reduce hiss, but that’s just my preference… I didn’t apply any here.”

Thanks to Hans Devente and CurtisEFlush for sharing the tracks.

  5. Question: Hans Devente has now “cleaned up” the original versions of these bootlegs from just a few days ago and posted the cleaned up versions which he says are even better than these. Will you post those?

  7. evidently someone really hates this guy enough to have made a site all about him -

personally i dont see the problem with posting things u find on one blog on another blog. it makes sure more people will have it. just like this site does.

btw if u find t heads shows from 75 there are a number of them as a 3 piece without jerry. he hadnt joined yet. they had a very nice early raw sound that should be checked out. personally i prefer them with jerry. but its nice to have a little of everything. there are also some demos out there from that era. and shrunken heads is also worth listening to. they sounded great for the tiny period they existed. when adrian belew and nina simone were with the heads and the tom tom club played sets during intermissions later on in the heads career it was like being transported into a different world during their concerts. what id love to hear that i still havent heard is their reunion performance from the induction to the rnr hall of fame. i have no clue how many songs they did or how good the performance was. ive never seen a review of this event. altho all too often the reviews are just handjobs. id like an honest one.

  8. Fact check
You mean Nonah Hendryx not Nina Simone. Different era. In this case error.

  9. yes i dont know why i typed nina simone. brain fart. of course its nonah hendryx. the dble n’s were in my head and i wasnt thinking slowly enough. i had a cab waiting for me and instead of waiting til i got back to post that i hit submit and ran out without reading it first. thank u for proofreading my posting. huge duh there.
