Seattle 1974 [no label, 2CD]

Live at the Seattle Center Arena, Seattle, WA; March 12, 1974. Very good to excellent audience recording. JEMS master recording.

This is a fan favourite but had also circulated as an incomplete show. This is the complete show.

Thanks to JEMS for taping and transferring the show; Mike Ziegler for the transfer and to weedwacker67 who shared the tracks at Dime.

Here are some notes from weedwacker67:

JEMS master recording. The story behind why the masters are on two different analog mediums and done with different decks is this. When S’ taped this he brought both decks with him to the show, he chained the TC-55 to the Tandberg and started to record a little before he knew his last reel would run out so he could capture the whole show. This show captures Joni on the Court And Spark tour. Joni is in fine form this night and puts on a killer show along with her backing band.

The other half of the master that was missing from the last post is finally done and transferred. This is everything S’ recorded for this show.

Update on the lineage on the tape portion:
To clear up some information around this recording since I had some incorrect information. The tape deck wasn’t chained into the Tandberg using the ecm-22p mics. The tape portion was done with the TC-55 using its internal mics. The reason he brought both decks that night was this. It was his wife that brought the tape deck in not him to record their newborn’s heartbeat or something to that effect during the show.

Thanks also to ethiessen1 for the artwork.

  5. This is indeed a good quality audience recording. Joni is clear throughout and the performance is spirited with a great set list. Thanks to all for bringing it to us. If you like this, buy the excellent “Miles of Aisles.”

  6. Thanks for acknowledging my photos of Joni in the graphics package! The photos are not from Seattle, they’re from Anaheim from a week before this show, March 5th. The only way you could improve on this show, for me, would be to offer the March 5th show for download!

If you want to see more photos from the March 5th show, check this link…
