Rock Hard (Kiss The Stone, KTS-399, 1CD]

Live at the Phoenix Festival, Warwickshire, UK; July 17, 1994; and live in New York; July 20, 1988. Excellent soundboard.

Contrary to what’s printed on the artwork, Tracks 1-11 are not from Phoenix, Arizona but from the Phoenix Festival in the UK in 1994.

And there’s no letting up from the man - Iggy Pop was energetic in 1994 as he still is today (he’s 65). But he is no bionic man - he broke two bones in his foot in Romania in 2011 and he is out of the circuit for the time being.

  2. This is a tremendous boot… which I’ve been listening to since the nineties! I envy those who get to experience the thrill of discovery. The New York show excerpts are particularly over the edge, and it’s a cryin criminal shame that the full performance couldn’t have been included on the Cd… I only know it from the vinyl.

  3. Iggy is the Shit!
    thanks again!

  4. the 94 item is Phoenix Festival, Long Marston Airfield, Stratford-Upon-Avon and is from a radio broadcast.
the 88 item is the Ritz. its likely also from the radio broadcast. could be pre-fm. who knows. the entire show was aired. i remember setting my radio to record it and running into the city to shoot the show. joe cocker showed up to watch him perform. i took a pic of him on his way in.

  6. –AND one of his absolute best road-bands in their prime.

  7. Jesus, he was on fire! And the band totally killed it. Only helped by thick wads of distortion. Awesome

  8. Request time folks. Does anyone know a link to Iggy Pops Stowaway DOA on CD. Sadly this has gone missing from my files and as it was the first Vynal I bought, I would like to have a copy of the music for sentimental reasons.

  9. creatist - the item u are looking for is -
22-03-1977 Cleveland, Agora Ballroom (Stowaway DOA)
the boot u want isnt the best copy of the show or the most complete version of it. theres a dutch radio brdcst of it that has 13 songs with the 14th track being the radio outro. the boot u want has 8 tracks but 2 of them are from the raw power sessions from 72. so only 6 of the songs are actually from the concert.
heres the info to get a better understanding -

ill keep looking to see what i can find for u. at first look i didnt see anything immediately available. i know a lot of the 77 shows had bowie on keyboards. i saw 2-3 of these shows. while not a huge fan of iggy i am crazy about bowie. i figured if david thinks that much of him ill try to understand why. to tell u the truth im still trying. haha.

  10. darth, thanx for looking, having problems finding this myself. If u like Bowie do you have a copy of Naked & Wired, if not let me know as I have found Russian link.

By Creatist on May 14, 2013

  11. creatist.. i have everything bowie cept the final show in germany 8 yrs ago. im still looking for that. i stopped looking a few months ago cuz other things came up. i have a few songs from it but i want the full show in audio. altho i wouldnt mind the video. i can always convert it of course.
btw.. be careful of some russian links. not all of them are totally safe. i can usually tell u in advance if it is before u dl the item. i have a program that checks the site and file on the site pre dl’ing.

By darth on May 15, 2013

  12. btw… heres a safe copy of it -

  14. darth, have look at this, there may one or two things of interest. Its a week of Bowie at the beeb called day after day.

By Creatist on May 16, 2013

  15. creatist - been working on that for a week or so. after i do 2 of em. i have to wait a bunch of hours. if im not here when it wants me to be available then i have just start it up when i return. its 19 parts. i sometimes stop it so i can do other things that id like to get immediately. its all needed to get any part of it. are u dl’ing it? its not really much in the way of unreleased material and im not that big on interviews or documentaries for the most part. but it is a keeper. im more into studio outtakes demos rehearsals altnerates and such. then live material. sbd and fm primarily. tv too. but when nothing else is available very high end audience is acceptable too. historically significant shows are important to me. i appreciate the help here.

on another topic.. if u like films. i saw star trek in imax 3d today. trust me on this. its killer. i won my tickets thru facebook. saved $31 altho i had to pay $3 ultimately plus popcorn and drink and cab. now ill have to dl the soundtracks like i usually do. im fanatical about orig ones. have to have the superman one and will need the trek one and. theres a 24 track one for man of steel. the film is available to dl online already. i got an absolutely perfectly mint copy as good as the dvd will be when it comes out of iron man3. but im into seeing movies in the theaters if i have the choice. but thats me.
