JAMES TAYLOR
Lucca 2012 [no label, 2CD]

Live at the Teatro del Giglio, Lucca, Italy; March 10, 2012, Broadcast on April 8, 2012. Excellent FM broadcast - Radio 2 RAI.

Just listen to the man sing and one wouldn’t have guessed that James Taylor is already 64. He still has a very clear voice and, for his fans, this is a lush helping of gourmet comfort food.

Thanks to survivor69 for taping the show and sharing it at Zomb.

Here are some notes from survivor69:

There was a break for radio news between tracks 8/9 that I have edited out, and the radio also quite well edited the break between sets (the show was originally played with an short intermission between 13-14, this has been omitted so to have everything running continuously, if you didn’t know you would have not noticed). There are also a couple of very short FM dropouts in the set.

There is a lot of in-between song talk by the Italian radio DJ, but during the songs there is no talking and quality is fine.

  5. not sure where this might fit in so im figuring maybe here. why not?
tonites showing of front row center features the beach boys. for anyone who hasnt seen this particular show yet it was longer than any other recorded program of the series. usually the shows are an hour long. this one was 90mins. however the one i found online clocks in at 55mins. even when u account for the fact that they tend to end them slightly early i dont know why the one i got is a little shorter than say 80-85mins.
in any event it was recorded at the st. augustine amphitheater in that city in fla on 5-2-12. i know this because i did a little research so i am bringing u the fruits of my labors should anyone be interested in this information.
the bb’s last show of this tour is on sept 28th. probably the last tour theyre gonna do.
if anyone finds an even longer version of this show than 55mins please inform and link us. thank u so much. incidentally there is some brief talking by band members over bits of the songs but not horribly annoying. if anyone needs help finding this feel free to contact me privately.

  7. Great to find this recording from Lucca 2012. I was there, took many photos but lost them on a malfunction. This recording makes up for the lost photos a un poco!
