Morrison, CO 2012 - Second Night [no label, 2CD]

Live at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO; August 6, 2012. Very good to excellent audience recording.

Tracks for the main set remained the same. For the encore, instead of Over And Over (the first night), the band performed a rocking version of Jesus Chariot [from the Americana album] and wound things down with a relaxed Roll Another Number from way back when.

Thanks to Kurly5 who recorded the show and shared the tracks on Dime; and to ShaReeF who then shared them at Hunger City.

Thanks, as always, to ethiessen1 for the artwork.

Recorded from Row 4, stage left
Olympus LS-10 (16 bit - 44 kHz) > SD card > Nero Wave Editor > CD Wave Editor > Traders Little Helper > Flac

  13. Well - well - Neil Young is back in the playground.
Thanks a lot, BigO - can hardly wait for the ‘Psychedelic Pill’-recordings, but this will do more than OK for now.

  14. Why only 192 kbps? BigO has been on 224 before, and instead of improving to 256 or 320 it’s back to 192.
That’s the only thing I really don’t like on this great site.

By Walter on Sep 29, 2012

  15. walter.. i know u are different than other humans who arent from krypton however the rest of the majority of us here are on earth cant hear a huge difference between 192 and anything above that. now yes there is a difference from 128 and above that. we can hear that difference. but the sonic quality of music files posted on here at 192kbps as opposed to say 256 or higher is not something u will really be able to tell with the same tracks.
in addition.. in the case with this site.. bigo has only a certain amount of bandwidth to work with and a certain amount of concerts to post and keep posted at a certain cost. they dont beg (that often) for money contributions. i could have it wrong on this part (not on the sonic quality above information tho) but im presuming i dont since i think thats kinda what bigo said a few months back when things slowed down a bit when their server seemed like it was dying. u could always write to them and ask or maybe they will respond to u and explain this.
im betting other audio engineers will write in with their input about the 192 vs 256 thing any minute.

  16. “im betting other audio engineers will write in with their input about the 192 vs 256 thing any minute.”

And if they disagreed with you, I’m sure you’d fire off another frothing, profane rant. If you’re so concerned about bigO’s bandwidth, trim your comments.

  17. hope yall tuned in tonite to see neils set from central park. he did 72mins. i recorded it. it came out to 89meg. it will be repeated twice on the site itself on sunday. it was on fuse and palladia channels. its a nice file on my computer and will easily fit on a single cd. the black keys set was 52 mins and the singer guitarist joined neil for his final song as did the foo fighters. the band of horses set was 21 mins but i didnt record the foo fighters set as im not really a fan. when i record these things i do it on the computer directly to mp3 then i can burn it directly to cd. i have no desire to break it up into single songs. its one single file.
interestingly i could easily put the keys and horses on same cd. nice.
