Banging On My Drums [Midnight Beat MB CD132/33, 2CD]

Live in Australia, New York and The Netherlands 1975-1977. Very good soundboard.

This is one of those instances where the info on the artwork is off. Fortunately, an uploader on Dime provided detailed info, reproduced here (Thanks!).

We got our copy of this boot in a trade in 2003. This is generally regarded as one of the better Lou Reed boots.

1: I believe that the Groningen show started on 1st May but went on until after midninght, so finished on 2nd May. The songs here are from the encore, so are technically from 2nd May. Rachel appeared on stage with Lou.
2: the 1977-11-01 tracks are mistitled/misdated on the CD artwork - the above details are correct.
3: the 1975-07 tracks are misdated on the CD artwork. The venue might be Perth, but Lou was playing in Japan on 7th July 1975.

  4. Thanks to all for the post. I saw Lou in Chicago in, I think, late 76 or early 77. I still remember ‘Real Good Time Together’ was one of the encores. Still one of my fav Lou Reed compositions. Patti does the best version though. Find one of her shows from 1976 and it will almost always be the way people outside NYC first heard her live sound. Her ‘Pale Blue Eyes’ was great too on that tour.

  6. Dropkick Sarge. That’s funny, since Lassie was portrayed by a male dog. Talk about taking a walk on the wild side!:>)

  7. Evenmentehal, Groningen (disc 2) is misspelled. The name was Evenementenhal. The venue was updated and renewed in the nineties and is now called Martini Plaza Groningen.

  13. Please help! I have been searching for ages. What was the date of the Perth Concert Hall Lou Reed concert? I know it happened - I definitely was there. It can’t have been November 1977 as I was in London.

There is mention on this site of a possible July 1975 Perth gig but it is not listed on the other sites that list other dates and venues around that time.

Gary, come to the party mate, When was it??
