Atlanta 1977 [no label, 2CD]

Live at the Fox Theater, Atlanta, GA; December 1, 1977. Very good to excellent soundboard.

The video for this popular show has been circulating for a while and readers can still download the DVD here. And, given the venue, to call Linda Ronstadt a foxy lady might not be inappropriate.

We received this show in a trade in 2004 and it is especially for those who’d like an audio version of this greatest hits package.

Meanwhile, a word of thanks to mildmike99 for the artwork.

Click on the highlighted tracks to download the MP3s (224 kbps). As far as we can ascertain, these tracks have never been officially released on CD.

  5. While I`m not a huge fan of Ms.Ronstadt`s recorded legacy, her release with Ann Savoy, “Adieu False Heart” seems to get a lot of play at our house,

  6. Great show with Linda in her prime and a great back up band. But it is amazing how many ‘tapers’ can’t seem to tell a FM from a soundboard. Rule #1 a FM has loud clapping at the end of songs… soundboards do not…
FM’s have a more balanced sound, like porno you know it when you hear it…grin…

Again great show but a FM or back in the day simulcast on both mono TV and local FM stereo… had my tape deck then…grin…

  7. Thanks for this share. Linda was in her prime here.

  9. GREAT response wurm! Maybe he can tell us about how she was his nanny at one time, or some such crap.

By Starrwatts on Sep 21, 2012

  10. squirm, jameskenstarrwatts, barth and the rest of your sybil-bots, if you didn’t press his buttons, he wouldn’t respond, so you’re no better than him. You’re off-topic, so, for the rest of us, shaddt-up already. Ignore his rants, just as he should have ignored Ed’s extras. You no better than darth.

    By 4yrsnojob on Sep 21, 2012

  11. 4yrsnojob did u ask him to ignore eds extras when it started? was his response a profane frothing rant? is he still hurt because bigo didn’t thank him for providing no credible information on the faces 1975 show?

By barth on Sep 21, 2012

  12. So? big deal! Unless you’re Ed, and that’s HIS to deal with, not the heck yours or mine. If Darth is too profane, that is BigO’s decision to deal with or not. And let Darth remain hurt. Why don’t you direct your energies dishing out meals in a soup line or bagging food to hand out to the poor at a food bank. Im too injured to do those things anymore, and now wait in those 1-2 hour lines to get some food. The county is gonna take a piece of my shoulder out and make the hole in my leg a lot bigger. Those are both half-assed procedures instead of the correct surgeries I should have instead to fix those problems I’ve had for 6 months (drunk driver) and 1 year (leg infection) respectively. Make yourself useful. It’s too hard for me now. Take my place out there.

  18. Speaking of great female singers, has anyone seen a download of the Amanda Palmer & Grand Theft Orchestra webcast for her KickStarter project. My daughter and I were supporters and saw her shows in Boston - incredible! Going to see her in PHX tomorrow night at the Crescent Ballroom. Anywhere near PHX, you need to be there. Her shows are becoming legendary!

  22. Sorry to hear that Linda Ronstadt was finally diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease at age 67, which has ended her singing voice. My brother passed at age 57 after 25 years of Parkinsons. The speaking voice is usually affected too, becoming very quiet due to the muscles not being able to have the strength they once had. It also means it takes a lot of concentration in order to speak, or to hold a cup steady, etc. Let’s hope that the medications help bring her some better mobility. God speed, Linda.

    By 5yrsnojob on Aug 25, 2013

  23. lindas last album was in 06 and she has now retired from the music business. she evidently found out last summer that this was happening and the final diagnosis was 8 months ago. she leaves a great legacy of music to look back on.

By darth on Aug 25, 2013

  24. It’s unfortunate when a great voice is silenced. I’m a big fan of her folk and country-rock. She was without a doubt one of the best interpretive singers of our times.

what a stupid post and a waste of time…

  26. I’m a little late to this conversation but in her prime she was not only a great singer but a “hottie” as well. I had a crush on her when I was in Nam in 70. I have had the honor of meeting her (by accident) at her family’s hardware store in AZ. Classy lady then and now!
