In Concert 1990-1994 [no label, CD 5 of 5CD]

Disc 5 - Point State Park, Pittsburgh, PA; June 11, 1994. Good to very good audience recordings.

Recently, we received a five-CD fan compilation of Laura Nyro in concert 1990-1994. The other shows are:
Disc 1: New York City; June 27, 1990.
Disc 2: New Georgia; August 18, 1990.
Disc 3: Redwood Music Festival; May 18, 1991
Disc 4: Slim’s, San Francisco, CA; August 2, 1991.

And then, we came across Randy Shields’ rumination on Laura Nyro’s “Incarnations”.

I’ve always felt that Nyro did something that no one else has ever done and not really gotten the recognition for it: she wrote more great songs as a teenager than anybody, including Lennon and McCartney, Dylan and Stevie Wonder. Those guys went on to conquer the world and I love their work, but they didn’t come remotely close to doing in their teenage years, even collectively, what Laura Nyro did. She was on fire…
