Dallas 1994 First Night [Uxbridge, 2CD]

Live at the Starplex Amphitheater, Dallas, TX; September 2, 1994. Excellent soundboard.

Here’s another show for Steely Dan fans. Thanks to buttmanos for sharing the tracks at The Traders’ Den.

Uploader’s notes:

Here is a fantastic soundboard recording from the 94 tour. The quality exceeds that of Irvine ‘94 as that show is lacking in the bottom-end department. This one more than makes up for it! Indeed, we have a great stereo spread and a crystalline, transparent capture - this may be the best sounding Steely Dan ROIO ever. It is certainly in the upper echelon. Plus, we have a great backing band and an even better setlist.

Where did it come from? Well, this, along with some of the other more recent seeds have been circulating overseas. We’ve managed to obtain some of the silvers as you’ve seen. They are not cheap. This two-disc set set me back over $100, personally. So long as the skeevy sellers are selling, we’ll be freely sharing until everything is tapped! And as of the date of this writing, the well is far from dry.

  4. With brother Wadenius I feel that we are channeling BS&T. Keys by whomever adds an aural concept not perceived b4 to Babylon Sisters. Thank you big 0. Looking 4word to their return from intermission & tomorrow’s girls.

  10. I saw this tour numerous times. This Dallas show is the part of the 2nd leg of the 1st US tour in over 20 years. Let me tell you they had a cat named Drew Zhing who not only played a smoking guitar but was the “musical director” you got it he was that good that Donald and Walter stepped back and let him run the band, on Third World Man he does the solo times 10. My jaw drops every time I hear a 93/94 version of it. What’s interesting here is that two new songs from Walter’s solo CD 11 Tracks of Whack show up. These are different from the 2 that were done in 93 on the 1st leg. I got one 94 show and it screams this one is a SBD it screams play it loud bros!

  12. Thanks for this - I always thought the live album they release at the time was pretty dull (and I’m a huge fan) so looking forward to giving another listen to what they were up to during the gap years between Gauco and Two Against Nature.

  13. Right on Jeremy ,I thought the live album was lacking as well.
