Toronto 1982 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the El Mocambo, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; February 20, 1982. Excellent FM broadcast.

And just when you thought ’80s rock was too finessed, over-produced and full of studio gimmicks…

Thanks to drccds who shared the show on Dime in 2006. This is what drccds noted then: “A radio broadcast. I would think this would be a well known show, but I haven’t seen it on DIME… The sound is excellent. I transferred it from cassette myself from a Nakamichi MR-2 to a Tascam CDRW-700 standalone CD recorder.”

  4. I’ve seen Joan in concert many times and in 1982 she was very big on the radio. Her shows were always packed and she pours her heart into each and every show. Never a disappointment!! This show sounds great, thanks for bringing back some great memories.

  5. Do you think that Joan is “light weight’ compared to the shit that they’re offering these days? I don’t.

  6. Not a bad show at all. A better reception than she got at The Police Picnic about 6 months later. No one throwing duffle bags here.

  7. I saw Joan on this tour… just a little before this…Dec. 21, 1981 at the AGORA BALLROOM here in Atlanta. She was really good.

I saw her the year before that at 688… there was maybe 100 people there and she didnt have an lp out in the USSA yet!

  12. hey bigo, i’ll get this. thanks. remember i fixed the tracklist on the bottom line show you offered in 2011. that’s a great one. i was listening to it last week.

i would have got this today, but i was working on zeppelin-vancouver 3.19.75. it’s a good one. i got a bunch of zeppelin shows last week. i counted, and i have 67. be nice, if you could slip in a few every now and then. one i really want is empire pool 11.20.70. i have the shirt. it’s out there, but i am having trouble getting it. i tried 3x last week, and it gets to 62% and stops. usually filefactory works ok, but i’ll try again later this week. a killer zeppelin is tv byen, gladsaxe, denmark 3.17.69. i played it twice yesterday. it was their first time on television.

i am looking at the tracklist, and i fixed a couple songs on paper. it’s i love rock ‘n’ roll, i love playin’ with fire, do you wanna touch me (oh yeah), and i don’t know what star is unless it’s star star by the stones. the rest appear to be correct.

i’ll tell you i saw subhen chatterjee & vishwa mohan bhatt play here in b’ham, al at steiner auditorium inside the b’ham museum of art sunday 4.14. see if it’s on dime. i’d love to have mp3’s of it. get on youtube and you can watch a short clip. i’m sure more will pop up in the coming days.
