Brisbane 2013 [no label, 2CD]

Live at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; April 25, 2013. Very good audience recording.

Thanks to Barghest who recorded and shared the show at Dime. Barghest added: “Arguably the best I’ve attended so far from Sabbath. Ozzy was in an incredible form voice-wise.”

This is what Andrew McMillen wrote at

To think that an industrial accident nearly robbed us of one of the finest and most original guitarists of all time. Tony Iommi doesn’t do much more on stage than eke out riff after evil riff, custom thimbles fitted snugly over the tips of his stumpy middle fingers, occasionally peering over his blue specs and throwing up the horns to his disciples in the front row… Ozzy Osbourne is as enthusiastic as any 64-year-old on the planet. The close-up camera shots show him reading from a teleprompter, straining to recall which syllables to place the emphasis on. Who gives a good goddamn shit, though? That he’s still living and breathing without the help of machines is commendable, especially since he was back on the sauce and blow as recently as last February. This crowd loves him for the caricature he has long been.

  4. Thank you BigO!!! Great!!! But I´m surprised - drums = Tommy Clufetos?!? I thought Brad Wilk ..? To Phil: I will be seeing BS in December (in Prague)!!! :-)

By Josef (Czech republic) on May 13, 2013

  5. Josef,
Brad Wilk only played on the album. I’m assuming he didn’t want to tour. Tommy Clufetos is Ozzy’s solo band drummer. I saw Sabbath in ‘98 at The Forum and in 2005 or so at an OzzFest in Devore. Both shows had the band in fine form and Ozzy sounded great!

  6. Thanks Big O and thanks to the original taper!!! Great sound,GREAT band!!!!!

  7. The Sabs have an album of all new material out shortly. They are touring it as a without the aid of celebutard guests. They sound vital and potent.

Hey Mick and Keith: Ozzy and Tony are kicking your ass every which way to Sunday. Just so you know.

    is…is it possible????
    no guest d-listers ?????

By sluggo on May 13, 2013

  9. Ah, but these dates have been down under… I’ll bet once they do dates in the USA and Britain the celebutards will be falling over themselves wanting to do their guest turns. Even then, they won’t be as blatant as the ones that have been hopping on the Stones’ bandwagon.

  10. Thank you Big O Amigos, will likely really need to hear Sabbath for the weekend, not precisely these cuts, but they will get me by till then. Be well, be better,

  12. To Phil:
thank you for your answer. Yes, I know who is Tommy Clufetos. I saw him last year in Prague on concert “Ozzy & friends”. Black Sabbath I saw in 1994, 1998 and 2005 in Prague, and solo Ozzy in 1995, 2002 (Ozzfest), 2007, 2012 in Prague and 2010 in small village Krabcice (Ripfest)… I´m great fan!

By Josef (Czech republic) on May 14, 2013

  13. Josef:
Once I heard them as a teenager, I became a lifelong fan!

By Phil on May 16, 2013

  14. WOW! As much as I’ve been enjoying this tour, Ozzy’s been seriously FLAT on “Into the Void” and “Under the Sun” at other shows. Melbourne and Sydney were really noticeable, Chiba also. But here he’s right on! He strains a little to hit the highs, but still sounds GREAT! Wish they’d done “Loner” this night when he was really in top form.

Looking forward to more from the States leg. With guests? A duet with Gaga would probably bring on the Apocalypse…

    Thanks for posting, Big O!

so in other words besides being a garbage picker and paparaazi to the star[gene simmons] you are also a psychic ?

By dropkick sarge on Jan 28, 2014

  22. i didnt say im a paparrazi to the star (sic). i took pics of 1000s upon 1000s of stars for 17 years. 1980 to 1995 in nyc and then a little more in 96 and 1 or 2x in 97. then once more in 03. the gene simmons thing was a single photo that i happen to have on the computer. i dont know why u forget things or confuse things so badly. its really not that difficult.
the garbage thing was in the very early 80s and i explained this several times already. its over 30 yrs ago.
the grammys on tv for the 3 hours that we all see doesnt show all 82 categories that they give awards out for. many of them are given out ahead of time. they showed only 3.5 hours minus commercials and then there were the performances. i got the word that sabbath got their grammy about an hour ahead of the show time and thought ppl who read this column would be interested.

  23. you have no sense of humor darth. too bad.

By darth on Jan 29, 2014

By barth on Jan 29, 2014

  26. it wasnt bullshit. and he didnt say it was. nor would it have been the truth had he said it was bullshit. if anyone was watching the postings they could have seen when i posted my comment and thereby seeing the time i posted it proving that it was posted around 725pm eastern time.. a half hour before the show started.
u calling me stupid doesnt make it true. im hardly stupid. needy? a little. egotistical? no. sociopathic? no. angry? depends on the situation but normally? no. frustrated? again depends on the situation.. but more often than angry sure. who isnt? hysterical? no. self absorbed? sure why not? not always. since im alone right now.. yes. insensitive? never. boring? definitely not. humorless? gimme a break.
proof that im not boring is that u find me so entertaining.
