Russian Diver [Lost And Found LAF947/948, 2CD]

Live at the KKT Cosmos, Jekaterinburg, Russia; September 13, 2005. Very good to excellent soundboard. Pitch off a little?

Dio toured South America, Japan, Europe, and Russia in 2005. Their autumn tour was titled “An Evening With Dio” and featured a regular set, and then a second set of the band playing his 1983 album Holy Diver in its entirety. The band was purportedly going to film a date from this show in Russia for future DVD release; however, the show on the DVD was actually filmed in London, England. The audio of this performance, a double CD named Holy Diver – Live was released in April 2006. - wikipedia

Fuwafuwatime at Dime commented that this “is the Dio’s longest show ever.”

And Voitto added: “I am fairly sure that some brutal violence was done to the recording. The pitch was definitely altered. It is almost a full step too high. However, it wasn’t altered by changing the speed. So it means that the song tempos are still correct. The best I could come up with was to change the pitch to 111 per cent without changing the speed. This takes a few hours per disc (Adobe Audition) and still the result is not that perfect soundwise, especially now when I am pretty sure that it was already done once the other way around!”

Thanks to Phil for sharing the tracks.

Note: A longtime music fan, Philip Cohen was a contributor to the now-defunct ICE Magazine and compiled the boxsets for The Yardbirds, The Small Faces, Humble Pie and Nice.

  5. Thank you Big O Amigos. I will second what Phil wrote, especially regarding Uriah Heep. Have a grand week. Respectfully,

  6. Please, BigO, for me MSG, UFO and Uriah Heep, too!!!

  7. hey bigo, i have 35 ufo shows, but, if you want to offer golders green hippodrome with schenker and chapman on lead guitars, i can use it.

i can never have enough thin lizzy either. i have 34 of their shows.

i’m upset cause i downloaded kiss-providence 8.3.75, and black diamond is cut. i don’t think it’s supposed to be cut. man, i was enjoying it. it’s very much like alive 1 just not as produced. it’s another dan lampkinski show. this is when they opened for sabbath. i have their set.

By wrong again darth on Sep 24, 2013

  9. Any UFO would be great! Especially anything from the “Wild, Willing & The Innocent” & “No Place To Run” era. I have nothing live from that time!

By Starrwatts on Sep 24, 2013

  10. hey bigo, jamming another thin lizzy show from drammen, norway 2.11.82. the pressure will blow!!!

i saw another copy of kiss-providence 8.3.75. hopefully it’s better. i’ll download it now.

as for ufo, i do have shows from the wild, the willing and the innocent and no place to run. paul chapman is underrated. if you goto soundabord, you can download chicago 1980. it’s a good one! phil dedicates too hot to handle to bon scott who passed away around that time.

  11. yeah bigo, the kiss doesn’t sound as good as the dan lampinski recording. as far as i can tell, it’s complete, though. maybe you could offer it later. this show is giving me a headache.

copy i had yesterday sounded ok, but they were 128kbps. that doesn’t bother me as much as black diamond being cut.

  12. Thanks for the info Ed! I agree, Paul Chapman is very underrated indeed. I’ll go look for the show. Thanks!
