PAUL McCARTNEY
Jimmy Kimmel Live 2013 [no label, 1CD]

Live on Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA; September 23, 2013. Excellent audio from HD webcast.

Paul McCartney and Jimmy Kimmel had the cops’ blessing Monday night [September 23] in Los Angeles, as they took to the roof of the El Capitan Theatre, promising a free show from the one-and-only Sir Paul for the gathered masses. Even though McCartney has a new album to promote - aptly titled New - he played only three songs [Save Us, New and Everybody Out There] from his latest during the Jimmy Kimmel Live! concert, favoring Beatles and Wings hits instead for the dedicated crowd (some fans waited more than 10 hours to be in the front row). “You all right back there… in Santa Monica?” he cracked to the fans who appeared to be cities away. - music-mix.ew.com

  2. Oh well that settles that then. Thanks Big O been wanting this since . . Er, yesterday. Full set and great quality. Topness abounding!

By swappers on Sep 26, 2013

  3. Thanks Big O! Macca has taken the mantle of “world’s oldest teenager” away from Dick Clark. Or maybe he’s just the greatest 72 year old rocker on earth.

  4. sir pauls been a class act all the way, good to see hes still writing good pop tunes. thanks bigo.

By barth on Sep 26, 2013

  5. Thanks a MILLION for posting this. I couldn’t get on My Space to check it out and Youtube only had poor quality clips of the songs. Big O comes through again!

By Ernie Clark on Sep 26, 2013

  6. the 62min clip i linked to had fine sound. it was all one clip tho. which has both advantages and disadvantages. i thought the sound was fine altho a little low in volume. that was easily corrected upon downloading tho. i was a little dismayed that he did the same amount (3) of new songs in the hour long set as the half hour set tho. perhaps sooner or later he will add in another song to a tv or radio appearance and we will have other high quality recordings of performances of songs from this new cd. whenever musicians do promotional appearances and perform songs on their newly released product one thing i hate is when they do the same song repeatedly. at least if they do that.. add a 2nd song. elton did the ellen show yesterday and did 2 songs. the first one was the same as the one from the emmys the other nite (home again) and the 2nd song was im still standing.
swappers - i had hoped i had answered most of the questions u had asked. that is other than if he had done any other new songs in the hour long kimmel set. i hadnt yet listened to the full show to see. turns out as u see now that its the same 3 songs.

    Because I am you!
Then YOU shut the fuck up, too!
    Why should I?
    Because you said so!
I told myself to shut myself the fuck up?
    Fuck yes.
    Aw fuck.

By lowendbill on Oct 6, 2013

  19. for several months now.. not just a week or two..but several months.. the release date of pauls new cd was scheduled for the 14th in the uk and the 15th in the us. i dont look at pauls website and i have no idea what u posted on 9-26 since i really didnt pay any attn to u or anything u said til i noticed something up above where someone (it may have been u - as i said i didnt pay attn to this) said something about the release date. as i mentioned cds are always released on tuesdays in the usa. i dont bother with musicians sites and i wouldnt know if there was an update or not. while i like paul i wouldnt call myself that much of a fan that id care enough to go to his. his cd is of no interest to me. all i was doing is mentioning the release date of it when i saw someone say it was the 14th and i knew that most on this site here are in the usa wouldnt see it in stores til the next day. in essence i was saving them a trip if they were fans.

as for the tv announcements.. i dont care if ppl appreciate it or not. i do it for those who do. not everyone keeps up with such things. if people were into paul for example and didnt know he was going to be on fallon on monday and instead were watching another channel.. theyd miss it. with my announcement they wont miss it. same with steve earle and steve martin and so on.
that jeff beck brian wilson (maybe with al jardine and blondie chaplin) thing coming up on the 10th on fallon should be nice too. u dont have to like my postings. i dont do them for u. youre not the only one here. have u considered that? have u considered that maybe there are ppl who dont want your postings here? is that stopping u from posting? do i get to dictate if or when u post that crap u keep putting up? if not.. then why do u think u get to decide if i post here and what i post?

btw.. i just learned that joan jett will be on leno on 22nd and elton john will be on kelly & michael on 16th and mark knopfler will be on leno on 24th.

  20. three days of peace and quiet gone. another barmy blathing retort to those he ignores. the only essence here is the foul stench of his rotten cake hole.

By barth on Oct 6, 2013

  21. darth, shut the fuck up. Nobody even reads your lengthy rants.

By Innocent Bystander on Oct 6, 2013

  22. Darth- i appreciate the heads up on the tv listings but why do you ramble on at the people you’ve apparently pissed off? Why not just ignore them. They’ll go away eventually or just shut up.Can’t understand why if they hate your comments so much, they read them and then bitch like litte girls.Enjoy the day Y’all!

By BTLFAN on Oct 7, 2013

  23. a bunch of rant regarding a cd either coming out the 14th or the 15th. I guess some people would argue if it was partly sunny or partly cloudy. When it comes to buying CD’s, DVD’s etc. I usually wait till payday, which will be the 18th. You can try to prove me wrong, but I do get paid on Fridays..which is the 18th.

By bonafide jerk on Oct 7, 2013

  24. BTLFAN, he can’t ignore us, he needs the attention. You may have noticed that a lot of darth’s comments, and those made by others, are ignored. The others accept it. darth can’t. It’s probably insecurity. Did you notice that we just had 3-4 days of polite behavior here, until darth returned? Just look above and you’ll see him try to prove barth wrong, nine days after the fact. Last week, out of nowhere, he insulted 5yrsnojob. An amusing response by 5yrs led to yet another angry frothing rant from darth. He tried again to weasel out of his erroneous statement about Peaches en Regalia being the first CD single, two months after I proved him wrong. There are many other examples, so many I’ve forgotten most of them, it’s just a recurring theme of misanthropy. When being polite doesn’t draw a response, he turns to anger.

BTLFAN, it’s obvious by now that darth is a sociopath. His comments on YouTube are a litany of rage and antisocial behavior. http://www.youtube.com/user/darthkards

Do you think he’ll take your advice and ignore this? Don’t bet the house on it.

we have a problem here with identity theft and its pretty sad when you have to use someone elses name because you are too much of a coward to use your own.

    How old are you again?

By Innocent Bystander on Oct 7, 2013

  29. its funny that im expected to ignore these idiots like dingus and barth and theyll even say things like..watch he wont ignore this.. but they dont ignore my postings. why do i have to ignore their attacks but they dont ignore my postings? my postings arent towards them. they sometimes respond to things they said towards me but i dont initiate comments in their direction. ever!! i post comments here about the music. it may not always involve the music on said page but its always about music in one way or another. all the readers here dont have to appreciate everything i post. its not for those ppl. its for those who might. i cant read the minds of everyone. i post for ppl who might enjoy reading what i post. if u dont then dont read future postings. i have no plans on not posting in the future because youre unhappy about something i said. if u have nothing better to do than stalk me here or on other sites like youtube thats your problem. not mine. i wasnt proven wrong on the peaches en regalia single. i just had it wrong on the size of the cd single. it was still the first one. just not the one i said. as someone later mentioned it was the first cd mini 3 inch single. i only knew this info because it was a question as part of a tower records contest more than 20 years ago in an issue of pulse magazine where they had lots of very difficult questions. another one was what did the kd in kd langs name stand for. i saw her a day or two later and she told me so i could include it in my answers for that contest. i doubt anyone else got their answer for that question that way. haha.

By mr upside down on Oct 8, 2013

  33. upside: can’t hurt. Only problem is annoying the stfu-club by beating them to the punch. So don’t be surprised when they tell you to stfu about shutting-tfu. yawn.

By lowendbill on Oct 9, 2013

  34. for anyone who missed it.. paul did 3 songs on the fallon show. lady madonna save us and new. total length was just under 9 mins. i guess they were all broadcast. i didnt watch the show itself but i did record them off the computer into a single audio mp3 file that came out to 12meg.

btw.. if telling ppl to stfu hasnt worked in all these years.. why keep doing it?

if anyone is interested.. the amnesty international concerts back in 86 with peter gabriel and bruce springsteen etc.. have been released today on dvd and bluray. i think there were 6 of them but im not positive. and i dont know how many of them were filmed other than giants stadium which was also brdcast at the time on tv as well as fm.
what i do remember about those performances is that u2’s and the police’s performances were extraordinary. and that it was to be the police’s last ever concerts. that is.. til they reunited a few years ago for that incredible tour. for anyone who doesnt have those recordings either in audio or video.. i cant recommend them enough.
for me.. personally.. u2 lost it after joshua tree. so the shows up thru say 87 (even 89 which didnt come to the usa) were their last great ones. thankfully there are enough from 77 thru then to enjoy.

lastly.. theres one more hour before steve martin and edie brickell are on the ellen degeneress show on nbc. i highly recommend this too.

By darth on Oct 9, 2013

  35. I’m really interested, darth. Gee, you’re so interesting and so knowledgable about what’s on TV and what’s being released on DVD. You must really have a full life.

  41. wow.. look what paul did yesterday -
    http://ultimateclassicrock.com/paul-mccartney-times-square/
i havent checked to see if these are on youtube or anywhere else yet. maybe someone has found them.

By darth on Oct 12, 2013

  42. youtube has a bunch of audience clips of varying qualities of the 4 songs he did yesterday but the best quality of one of them i found is this one -
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCT62B-nH6M
sadly it starts slighly late and the person who posted this one only has this one song of the four. all 4 songs are from the new cd.

By darth on Oct 12, 2013

  43. i found queenie eye also with very decent audio but it cuts off before the end. the video is horrible but if one is only interested in dl’ing the audio from these clips as i am there are a couple of clips worthwhile. depends on how picky one is.. in so far as songs being cut off etc. the above song is 2′50 with a bit of talking by paul at the beginning. its the final song of 4.

yall know this is the 2nd time paul has played times square in recent years. he played 4 blocks or so north on the marquee of the ed sullivan theater where the letterman show is filmed. the entire set is still viewable on the cbs &/or lettermans site. im sure its also on youtube.
those letterman full length nearly hour long concerts are wonderful. if yall get a chance u should check them out. theres a peter gabriel and a mumford & sons over there and others. those are 2 that stand out.

By darth on Oct 12, 2013

  44. i just gave “new”, sir pauls new lp a spin and its a fine bit of pop rock. four different producers contributed including giles martin son of george. there could be several hit singles here. life is good for sir paul and new reflects that. the deluxe version has two extra tunes and the japanese release has a third. the official release date in the usa is tomorrow but my local indie record store bent the rules a tad for their regulars.

i put (the 16th) in parenthesis because it will appear that my posting is on the 17th altho it is 830pm edt when i post this.
