Los Angeles 2013 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA; December 7, 2013. Excellent audio (extracted from webcast).

The 24th Annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas makes its return to the legendary Shrine Auditorium on December 7th and 8th, 2013, featuring two nights of incredible performances from many of today’s biggest bands! Proceeds from the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas benefit local charities Para Los Niños and the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center. (Click on the respective link to donate)

Emily Zemler of The Hollywood Reporter wrote:

[The English] Arctic Monkeys presented a typically swaggering set book-ended by new singles “Do I Wanna Know?” and “R U Mine?” Frontman Alex Turner, who used the rotating stage setup as an opportunity to vamp and pose for the crowd as the new band emerged, told the audience “We are the Arctic Monkeys, everybody - the best band out.” It’s a bold statement, to be sure.

Highly contentious, no doubt, but still, highly enjoyable.
