The Netherlands 2013 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Parkstad Limburg Theater, Heerlen, The Netherlands; November 21, 2013. Excellent FM broadcast (L1 Radio, Hubert On The Air).

A stirring performance, thanks to gadogado who recorded and shared the tracks at Dime.

gadogado noted:

Eric Burdon had a problem with his voice (he was drinking a lot of hot tea) during the first [couple of] songs. Also there was a technical problem with his mic at the start of Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.

At the beginning of River Is Rising (48:15-48:30), a football song (olé, olé, olé) was mixed in. I don’t know whether it had a purpose, or was done by accident. This part was replaced by 15 seconds of the mp3 podcast (48.000 Hz/128 Kbit/s) from that broadcast (website L1).

Picture by Harm Lutke, posted at - Thanks!

Fm (digital cable) > HD 24/48 > 16/44.1 > Flac level 8 (TLH)
Recorded, volume normalized, split in tracks, replaced the ‘football song’ and added a fade out at the end of track 7 and 12 with Magix ACL.

  2. Great find, Big-O! I haven’t followed EB thru the years, but a friend turned me on to “River…” - and it’s super - highly recommended! As great as the Animals songs are, I’s far rather hear more “River” tracks in place of the golden moldies.

And that voice (on the album at least) is strong as ever.

  7. proof positive that some things get better with age.
eric delivers pretty damn good here for his age you`d wonder how he would have the pipes left. I`m impressed and the band sounds like they are into the music.
    good enough.
