Lucca Night [Mid Valley 381-382, 2CD]

Live at the Piazza Napoleone, Lucca, Italy; July 7, 2006. Very good to excellent FM broadcast.

For those looking for another 2006 show… The performance is very good, perhaps due to having Derek Trucks and Robert Cray in the lineup.

Thanks to original uploader Japrainbow who shared it at Zombtorrent; and to ademotte for sharing it at Dime.

ademotte’s notes:

The bulk of this torrent is sourced from an FM broadcast of an incomplete show from Lucca, Italy; the broadcast faded in during the first song as this one does. The recording itself lacks the fidelity of a typical European FM broadcast - I think because the recording was oversaturated. It’s still a good recording and better than the majority of audience recordings from this tour… This also seems to sound better than the raw FM that appeared on DIME shortly after the broadcast. The bonus tracks are audience recordings, but actually sound pretty good - a few tracks from two different European shows on the same tour, and a Robert Cray opening set from yet another date (I guessed on the song titles for the latter).

Geetarz adds, “with edits between songs to remove announcer overdubs.”

  7. Let the God’s pass through time as they will. EC will always be the standard bearer. The fact he is still slinging it is a good thing. He told Japan this would probably be his last time through. He has got a handle on where he stands. Praise be!

  8. I feel u pismo. they have been showing Bob Dylan’s 30th anniversary show on PBS lately. EC does sublime version of “Don’t Think Twice” on this. It might make u forgive the last 10 to 15 years which by anyone else’s standards would b pretty darn good.
