JOHN CAFFERTY & THE BEAVER BROWN BAND
New York 1984 [Ken G Collection, 2CD]

Live at the Bottomline, New York City, NY; September 12, 1984. Good to very good FM broadcast.

John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, with their brand of barroom/heartland/blue-collar rock, must have had a very tough time because they do sound like the E Street Band but they took their chance and ran with it with the soundtrack to 1983’s Eddie & The Cruisers. And Wild Summer Nights does make a great track!

Thanks to George (Transferred, Balanced and Tracked); and to kingrue for sharing the show at The Traders’ Den.

Uploader’s notes:

  3. The live shots in the Rockin’ bar in New Jersey in the Eddie & The Cruisers movie are fro the Legendary Stone Pony! A place I saw Grace Potter and the Nocturnals rock out a few years ago and because of the Eddie & The Cruisers movie I thought I had been in there before.

  4. The club scenes were actually shot in a club called Tony Mart’s in Somers Point NJ. which is right outside of Ocean City. A new club has just opened at the site of Tony Mart’s and this Friday 10/17 they are presenting a big show featuring many of the groups that played at Tony Mart’s. The groups will also be doing a tribute to the music from Eddie and the Cruisers.

  5. I see my recording from Traders Den has made it over to this site. I can only hope that it’s not compressed down to lossy MP3 format. Polluting the trading pool with such is a bad thing. otherwise go to the source and download my torrent here.
