Denmark 1997 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Roskilde Festival, Roskilde, Denmark; June 29, 1997. Very good radio broadcast.

For those not grooving to Aphex Twin or for anyone curious enough to want to find out…

Richard James is one of the most eccentric personalities on the electronic scene. His minimal need to sleep is legendary and he maintains that he makes music even when he is asleep. The instruments are more or less home-made which adds to the highly personal nature of his sound: an almost hysterical, sometimes entertaining, sound landscape which has inspired many techno and ambient names. Brian Eno and Philip Glass are some of his idols as well as the techno names Juan Atkins and Derrick May. He is extraordinarily productive and releases records under several names, for example, AFX, Polygon Window and Aphex Twin.

Uploader’s notes:

A great live set from Aphex Twin. Originally circulated years ago on the IDM mailing list on CD, finally getting round to doing something with it. This version has 11 tracks as opposed to the shorter version which you can sometimes find around on slsk and the like.

Recorded from Radio (Swedish National Radio P3) to Harddrive to CDR to Wav to Flac
