Featuring Buddy Guy and Junior Wells
New York 1973 [no label, 2CD]

Live at the Felt Forum, New York, November 23, 1973. Fairly good audience recording.

Thanks to original uploader 38f (?); and to mjcrossuk for keeping the show alive at Dime.

Original notes:

Since it’s not always Christmas time, in terms of great quality sound, this recording needs a long introduction. I always wanted to post this but the flaws and the imperfections of the tape always stopped me from transferring it. Then yesterday, I thought, what the f**k, people have to hear this, and since the most part of you are real music lovers and are not spookie or snobby about it, I decided to do it.

The source of this tape: Back in the late ’70s, I used to trade with this guy from New York, who was going to many shows, taped them, and sent me first -generation copies of them. The problem was, that this guy had no money, and he was probably using the Barbie tape recorder, so all his tapes had many flaws, missing parts, etc… he used to tape expecially blues shows, so I have a dozen from him, including an uncirculated Mike Bloomfield and other uncirculated blues gems, but all are in the same status of this one, and need a lot of work on them.

The recording: The quality of the recording is listenable audience, not great, but not really bad, clear enough and enjoyable. I corrected what i could, but still there are drops at the end of any song, some early beginnings and ends of the songs have some seconds missing, and where indicated some songs have more problems. So to avoid a big mess, I only corrected what I could… Even with all these  problems, this recording is a must, ’cause the music is too good.

The performance: Simply awesome, and the final jam is beautiful.
