Night At The Roxy [no label, 1CD]

Live at The Roxy, Hollywood, CA; April 27, 1998. Fairly good soundboard.

Cheap Trick have a reputation of being a no-bullshit high energy live act… They have also been referred to in the Japanese press as the “American Beatles”; and in October 2007, the Illinois Senate passed a resolution designating April 1 as Cheap Trick Day in the state.

Thanks to original uploader rocknbear; and to takamasa1963 for keeping the show alive at Dime.

  2. Bloody fantastic, mostly songs from their first two albums. This has consistently been one of the high energy live bands, rarely playing a bad set, and never afraid to play anything from their entire catalogue, including the most obscure stuff from time to time :)

  3. Fantastic stuff, thanks again. When he recorded the original version of “I’m Losing You” for “Double Fantasy” in 80, Lennon used Bun.E and Rick with King Crimson’s bass player Tony Levin. He said to them it was too bad he didn’t have them in 69 when he recorded “Cold Turkey”, because “Clapton didn’t get it”. So the way Cheap Trick play the number is how John would have like it to sound originally.
