Umbria Jazz 2009 - Programme 4 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Teatro Morlacchi, Perugia, Italy. July 15, 2009. Very good FM broadcast.

Programme 4 starts with Ann Ward’s piano piece, Promises, which will lull the unwary into thinking that this is just another stroll in the park. But be prepared for another hour of challenging music that will leave you breathless.

For the Umbria Jazz Festival 2009, the AACM played six different shows in three days, with six different programmes, by six different composers.

Thanks to survivor69 who recorded and shared the shows on the Dime site and to Fastone for the artwork.

survivor69 noted: “I am assuming that all these Umbria Jazz 2009 sets are recorded on removable 80 mins media (such as blank MDs or CDRs). So, the bad news is that these Umbria Jazz sets are all possibly incomplete, and the missing tracks/encores, where there are any, are not even recorded: the good news is that these broadcasts will all fit one only CDR… But, as I said, this is just my assumption.”

Note: Click on the highlighted tracks to download the MP3s (these are high quality MP3s - sample rate of 192 kbps). As far as we can ascertain, these tracks have never been officially released on CD.

Due to the size of some of the files, please be very patient when downloading the tracks. It could be that the server was very busy. Please try again later. Kindly email us at [email protected] if you encounter persistent problems downloading the files.
