Instrumental Collection [no label, 4CD]

Promos. Various dates. Very good soundboard.

The Divine Comedy are an orchestral pop band from Northern Ireland formed in 1989 and fronted by Neil Hannon. Hannon has been the only constant member of the group, playing, in some instances, all of the non-orchestral instrumentation besides drums. To date, 11 studio albums have been released under the Divine Comedy name. The group achieved their greatest commercial success in the years 1996–99, during which they had nine singles that made the UK Top 40, including the top ten hit “National Express”. - wikipedia

The Divine Comedy, aka Neil Hannon, apparently put out promo-only instrumental versions of several albums as promos, but they never circulated in lossless quality on the internet (and nobody at Discogs was selling them either). Then, right before What.CD died, some kind soul uploaded a few of them… no logs or anything, but better than nothing.

This torrent contains the following:

- Regeneration Instrumentals (Love What You Do, Bad Ambassador, Perfect Love Song, Lost Property)
- Absent Friends Instrumentals (full album)
- Victory for the Comic Muse Instrumentals (full album; BMG version with Guantanamo Bay)
- Bang Goes the Knighthood (full album except omits “One Leg,” as on the promo)
+ Bonus instrumentals from the BMG 2006 UK Sampler: Sticks and Stones (probably the same as above), The Booklovers (from Promenade), and Here Comes the Flood (from Fin).

Any ripping issues/glitches stem from the original torrents. Enjoy.

  3. Oh Wow thanks Big O! Love Neil Hannon’s work and have pretty much everything The Divine Comedy has released (although the notes say 11 and I will have to check, that’s seems a lot) but hadn’t heard about this. He is a master tune smith and lyricist and for this listener is woefully under appreciated (dinosaur old rockers notwithstanding)

Get with the programme people and try this, it is a treat of peerless contemporary music bar none. You got ears? You won’t be disappointed

    Thank you so much!

  7. You implore people not to hammer the link but if you put all these files into a torrent, it would be a lot less work for the server.

Surely you can find someone to set it up for you?
