France 1975 [no label, 2CD]

The Brotherhood of Breath was a big band created, in the late 1960s, by South African pianist and composer Chris McGregor (1936–1990), essentially an extension of McGregor’s previous band The Blue Notes. The Brotherhood of Breath included many members of the South African expatriate community resident in London, including McGregor himself, Louis Moholo, Harry Miller, Mongezi Feza, Dudu Pukwana, (occasionally) Johnny Dyani; and many of the free jazz musicians who were based in London at the same time. The personnel was fluid, depending on who was available. The music resembles a mixture of the hard-driving blues of Charles Mingus and the wild experimentalism of Sun Ra, but retains a unique feel due to the South African influences and the intelligent arrangements. - wikipedia

Big O - once again thanks for this; for some reason 2020 has been a big year for me listening to this band, especially the sets from the 70s. And you’ve provided a couple of my favorite recordings by them; Brotherhood of Breath. yes indeed!
By treborij on Dec 14, 2020

That wasn’t me for all of the morons here . I don’t engage in frivolous bullshit yacking. The homos are rampant here as are the name stealers . I haven’t been commenting much , and when I do it’s usually something of substance.

David or dd , derrick etc . Hope you guys are well . Looks like The. Corpse , Joe blow Biden and his puppet mistress, President in waiting Kamala time Harris are gearing up to turn America toward socialism. AOC , towelhead Omar , Pelosi , The rest of the squad and Chuckie Wuckie Schumer await the two Georgia senate runoff results . If the Democrats control the White House , plus both the House and senate we are headed toward socialism and are totally fucked .
