A Christmas Celtic Sojourn
Boston 2015 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Cutler Majestic Theater,
Boston, MA; December 20, 2015 (Broadcast December 24, 2016). Very good FM broadcast.

Thanks to likescookies for sharing the show at Dime.

This show was posted on DIME in December 2017 as an HD over FM broadcast. I fell in love with it; it may be the best collection of Christmas music I’ve ever heard. But the music sounded very lossy to my ears, so I went in search of a better source. This show was broadcast on WGBH in 2016, and these tracks come from Pre-FM wav files. I edited it down to just the music and a few introductions.

On one track that was broadcast on the radio show - Frosty the Snowman - the radio version included voiceover at the end. To avoid this and to avoid fading the track out early, I seamessly spliced the lossless version with a few seconds of audio from the professionally filmed video.

  2. If you want this, grab it now. Classical artists are REALLY prickly about ROIOs.

  3. Thanks for this BigO. In the past you shared both the 2014 & 2016 shows which have become holiday traditions around my house. Having the 2015 show will make for another traditional listen.
