John Mellencamp, another Farm Aid original, offered a nine-song set that covered the span of his career from classic songs such as “Jack and Diane” (offered as a solo acoustic piece) and new material like the piano-and-violin ballad “Easy Target” from his latest release “Sad Clowns and Hillbillies.” He offered up “Rain on the Scarecrow,” which could be the anthem for struggling family farms and closed his set with hits “Crumblin’ Down,” and “Pink Houses.” -

  5. This place has become an insane asylum for retarded pre teens . Ok , back to the music , John Cougar Mellencamp is one more example of an old rocker who is just hanging on at this point . Just like his peers , Springsteen, Neil Young , McCartney , Elton John , Bob Dylan and especially The Rolling Stones . John , please do yourself and music fans everywhere a favor , retire already. You were great in the 80s and 90s , but like the others , you’re way past your prime . I’m so tired of these posts of geezer rockers .

Pat, you retire from mundane jobs you don`t retire from creativity, give it a rest you do not get to tell artists this.
