New York City 1987 [no label, 1CD]

Live at Carnegie Hall, New York City; July 2, 1987. Very good audience recording.

Thanks to JimCT; Hobbes4444, goody; mjk5510 and ttocs1 for sharing the show at Dime.

Suzanne Vega arose from the deep traditions of New York City folksingers. Her self-titled debut album came out in 1985, but her second album, Solitude Standing, that was released April 1, 1987, really brought her to the attention of the world. This performance, just three months later at Carnegie Hall, was the first of many I would see over the years. I cannot find my ticket stub, but my recollection is that I was at the front of the orchestra.

This performance was with her full band from the album: Anton Sanko on synthesizers, Michael Visceglia on bass, Stephen Ferrera on drums, and Marc Shulman on electric guitar.

My thanks to the wonderful team that has taken on the project of bringing many of my masters out of storage, transferring the masters, and undertaking all the meticulous detail work that results in the end product here.

Thanks to Hobbes4444 for handling the transfer of this and many more masters that we hope to be posting.

Thanks to Goody, the pitch master, for always being willing to take our shows and tune them to perfection.

Finally, thanks to mjk5510 for the wonderful remastering work that took a simple audience capture to this beautiful finished product!

This is the fourth of many of Jim’s other-than-Springsteen masters shared to DIME, another group of collectors are handling Jim’s Springsteen captures and we’ll be handling all other artists.
